أعلنت رئيسة البرلمان الأوروبي روبرتا ميتسولا، الاثنين، أن البرلمان قرر منع دخول جميع الدبلوماسيين والمسؤولين الرسميين الإيرانيين إلى مبانيه.
وقالت ميتسولا على منصة شركة إكس الأمريكية: قررت اليوم منع جميع الدبلوماسيين والمسؤولين الإيرانيين من دخول جميع مباني البرلمان الأوروبي.
وأضافت لا يمكن أن يستمر الوضع على ما هو عليه، البرلمان الأوروبي لن يساهم في إضفاء الشرعية هذا النظام (الإيراني) الذي يستمر في الحكم بالتعذيب والقمع والقتل.
وأكدت ميتسولا أن البرلمان الأوروبي يدعم حقوق وحريات الشعب الإيراني.
وبدأ التجار في السوق الكبير بالعاصمة طهران في 28 ديسمبر – كانون الأول الماضي احتجاجات على التراجع الحاد في قيمة الريال الإيراني أمام العملات الأجنبية وتفاقم المشكلات الاقتصادية، وتمددت الاحتجاجات لاحقا إلى العديد من المدن.
وأقر الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان، بحالة الاستياء الشعبي، مؤكدا أن الحكومة مسؤولة عن المشاكل الاقتصادية الراهنة، وحث المسؤولين على عدم إلقاء اللوم على جهات خارجية مثل الولايات المتحدة.
ولم تصدر السلطات الإيرانية بيانات رسمية بشأن عدد القتلى أو الجرحى، غير أن وكالة أنباء نشطاء حقوق الإنسان في إيران هرانا أفادت في تقرير نشرته في 11 يناير- كانون الثاني الجاري (اليوم الـ15 للاحتجاجات) بمقتل 544 شخصا، بينهم 37 من عناصر الأمن ومدعٍ عام واحد و8 أطفال (دون 18 عاما)، إضافة إلى توقيف 10 آلاف و681 شخصا.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced on Monday that the Parliament has decided to ban all Iranian diplomats and officials from entering its buildings.
Metsola said on the American company X’s platform: “Today, I decided to ban all Iranian diplomats and officials from entering all European Parliament buildings.”
She added, “The situation cannot continue as it is; the European Parliament will not contribute to legitimizing this (Iranian) regime, which continues to rule through torture, repression, and killing.”
Metsola affirmed that the European Parliament supports the rights and freedoms of the Iranian people.
On December 28 last year, merchants in the Grand Bazaar of Tehran began protesting the sharp decline in the value of the Iranian rial against foreign currencies and worsening economic problems, with the protests later spreading to many cities.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian acknowledged the public discontent, emphasizing that the government is responsible for current economic problems, and urged officials not to blame external parties such as the United States.
Iranian authorities have not issued official statements regarding the number of casualties or injuries. However, the activist-run news agency Hrana in Iran reported in a report published on January 11 this year (the 15th day of the protests) that 544 people were killed, including 37 security personnel, one prosecutor, and 8 children (under 18 years old), in addition to 10,681 people being arrested.
