دعا الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، إلى إعادة عضو مجلس النواب من الحزب الديمقراطي إلهان عمر إلى بلدها الصومال، وذلك كوسيلة عقابية لها.
وادعى ترامب في تدوينة له على منصته تروث سوشيال، الأحد، بوجود فساد مرتبط بالصومال بقيمة 19 مليار دولار في ولاية مينيسوتا الأمريكية.
وقال ترامب إن إلهان عمر التي “تكره الولايات المتحدة وتشتكي باستمرار، تعرف كل شيء عن هذا الأمر”.
وأضاف أنها “يجب أن تكون في السجن، بل وحتى كعقوبة أسوأ، يجب إعادتها إلى الصومال الذي يعد من بين أسوأ دول العالم”.
وكان ترامب قد وصف في وقت سابق، إلهان عمر ذات الأصول الصومالية، بأنها “عديمة الكفاءة، فاشلة، وقمامة”، وزعم أن المهاجرين الصوماليين المقيمين في الولايات المتحدة “دمروا” ولاية مينيسوتا.
كما دعا سابقا إلى طرد إلهان عمر من الولايات المتحدة.
من جهتها، ردّت النائبة عمر على الرئيس الأمريكي عبر تدوينة قائلة: رسالتي إلى ترامب: خطابك المليء بالكراهية لن ينجح. الأمريكيون من أصول صومالية باقون هنا.
والأسبوع الماضي، أعلنت الإدارة الأمريكية إنهاء “وضع الإقامة المؤقتة” لآلاف الصوماليين المقيمين في الولايات المتحدة، ووجوب مغادرتهم البلاد بحلول 17 مارس/آذار المقبل.
وبحسب بيانات وزارة الأمن الداخلي، يوجد في الولايات المتحدة نحو 2500 صومالي يتمتعون بوضع الإقامة المؤقتة، فيما لا يزال طلب نحو 1400 مهاجر صومالي قيد الانتظار.
ويأتي قرار إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب عقب مزاعم فساد في ولاية مينيسوتا التي يتركز فيها وجود المهاجرين الصوماليين.

U.S. President Donald Trump called for the deportation of Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar back to her country, Somalia, as a form of punishment.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump claimed that there was corruption linked to Somalia amounting to $19 billion in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
Trump said that Ilhan Omar, who he claimed “hates the United States and constantly complains,” knows everything about this matter.
He added that she “should be in prison, and even as a worse punishment, she should be sent back to Somalia, which is among the worst countries in the world.”
Previously, Trump had described Ilhan Omar, who is of Somali origin, as “incompetent, a failure, and trash,” and claimed that Somali immigrants living in the United States had “destroyed” the state of Minnesota.
He had also previously called for Ilhan Omar to be expelled from the United States.
For her part, Rep. Omar responded to the U.S. president in a post saying: “My message to Trump: Your hate-filled rhetoric will not work. Somali Americans are here to stay.”
Last week, the U.S. administration announced the termination of “temporary protected status” for thousands of Somalis residing in the United States and said they must leave the country by March 17.
According to data from the Department of Homeland Security, about 2,500 Somalis in the United States currently hold temporary protected status, while the applications of around 1,400 Somali migrants are still pending.
The decision by President Donald Trump’s administration comes following allegations of corruption in the state of Minnesota, where the presence of Somali immigrants is concentrated.
