قال مسؤول أمريكي لموقع “أكسيوس” الإخباري، الأحد، إن واشنطن مستعدة لعقد جولة جديدة من المحادثات مع إيران، الجمعة المقبلة، في مدينة جنيف السويسرية إذا تلقت خلال الـ48 ساعة المقبلة مقترحا إيرانيا مفصلا بشأن اتفاق نووي.
ونقل الموقع عن مسؤول أمريكي رفيع (لم يسمه) إن إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترامب “تنتظر مقترحا إيرانيا مفصلا” بشأن اتفاق نووي بين البلدين.
وفي 17 فبراير/ شباط الجاري، استضافت جنيف الجولة الثانية من المفاوضات بين طهران وواشنطن بشأن البرنامج النووي الإيراني، بعد جولة سابقة بالعاصمة العمانية مسقط في 6 من الشهر ذاته.
المسؤول الأمريكي أوضح أن مبعوثي ترامب، ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر، اللذين نصحا ترامب بمنح الدبلوماسية فرصة قبل إصدار أمر بضربة عسكرية، يخططان للحضور إلى جنيف في 27 فبراير الجاري، وذلك في حال أرسل الإيرانيون المقترح في وقت مبكر من هذا الأسبوع.
وقال المسؤول: “إذا قدمت إيران مسودة مقترح، فإن الولايات المتحدة مستعدة للاجتماع في جنيف، الجمعة، من أجل بدء مفاوضات مفصلة لمعرفة ما إذا كان بإمكاننا التوصل إلى اتفاق نووي”.
وأشار إلى احتمالية أن تناقش إدارة ترامب وإيران إمكانية التوصل إلى “اتفاق مؤقت قبل إبرام اتفاق نووي كامل”.
ووفق الموقع الأمريكي، نقلا عن مسؤولين أمريكيين آخرين (لم يسمهم) فإن “المسعى الدبلوماسي الحالي يُرجّح أن يكون الفرصة الأخيرة التي سيمنحها الرئيس ترامب لإيران قبل إطلاق عملية عسكرية أمريكية-إسرائيلية واسعة، قد تستهدف بشكل مباشر المرشد الأعلى علي خامنئي”.

An American official told the Axios news website on Sunday that Washington is ready to hold a new round of talks with Iran next Friday in the Swiss city of Geneva if it receives within the next 48 hours a detailed Iranian proposal regarding a nuclear agreement.
The website quoted a senior American official (which he did not name) that the administration of President Donald Trump is “awaiting a detailed Iranian proposal” regarding a nuclear agreement between the two countries.
On February 17, Geneva hosted the second round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding the Iranian nuclear program, after a previous round in the Omani capital, Muscat, on the 6th of the same month.
The American official explained that Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who advised Trump to give diplomacy a chance before issuing an order for a military strike, plan to come to Geneva on February 27, if the Iranians send the proposal early this week.
The official said: “If Iran presents a draft proposal, the United States is ready to meet in Geneva, on Friday, in order to begin detailed negotiations to see if we can reach a nuclear agreement.”
He indicated the possibility that the Trump administration and Iran would discuss the possibilityReach an “interim agreement before concluding a full nuclear deal.”
According to the American website, quoting other American officials (which it did not name), “the current diplomatic effort is likely to be the last chance that President Trump will give Iran before launching a broad American-Israeli military operation, which may directly target Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.”
