قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، إنه في حال عدم التوصل لاتفاق مع إيران، فإن عواقب ذلك ستكون وخيمة.
جاء ذلك في تدوينة عبر حسابه على منصة “تروث سوشيال” التي يمتلكها، مساء الاثنين، نفى فيها ادعاءات مفادها أن رئيس الأركان المشتركة الأمريكي دان كين يعارض تنفيذ عملية كبرى ضد إيران.
وأضاف ترامب أن القرار بشأن إيران يعود له شخصيا، وأنه في حال اتخاذ قرار بمهاجمتها فإن كين سيلتزم بذلك ويدير الجيش بكفاءة عالية.
وأوضح أن “الجنرال كين، مثلنا جميعا، لا يرغب في رؤية حرب، لكنه يرى أنه إذا تم اتخاذ قرار عسكري ضد إيران فسيكون من السهل تحقيق النصر”.
كما وجه رسالة إلى القيادة في إيران مفادها “أنا من يتخذ القرار، أُفضل التوصل إلى اتفاق، لكن إذا لم يحدث ذلك فسيكون يوما سيئا للغاية لذلك البلد، وللأسف لشعبه”.
وكانت تقارير إعلامية قد أفادت بأن دان كين حذّر ترامب من أن أي عملية عسكرية محتملة ضد إيران قد تؤدي إلى صراع طويل الأمد.
كما نقل موقع “أكسيوس” الإخباري، عن مصدرين مطلعين، قولهما إن كين أبلغ ترامب بأن الهجوم على إيران قد “ينطوي على مخاطر كبيرة”.
ومنذ أسابيع تقوم الولايات المتحدة وبتحريض من إسرائيل بتعزيز قواتها العسكرية في الشرق الأوسط، وتلوح بتنفيذ عمل عسكري ضد إيران لإجبارها على التخلي عن برنامجيها النووي والصاروخي وعن “وكلائها بالمنطقة”.
ورعت سلطنة عمان الثلاثاء الفائت جولة مفاوضات بين الطرفين في جنيف، بعد جولة سابقة بالعاصمة مسقط في 6 فبراير/ شباط الجاري.
وتطالب الولايات المتحدة إيران بوقف أنشطتها لتخصيب اليورانيوم بالكامل، ونقل اليورانيوم المخصب إلى خارج البلاد، وتلوح باستخدام القوة العسكرية ضدها.
وترى طهران أن واشنطن وإسرائيل تختلقان ذرائع للتدخل وتغيير النظام فيها، وتتوعد بالرد على أي هجوم عسكري حتى لو كان محدودا، مع تمسكها برفع العقوبات الاقتصادية الغربية مقابل فرض قيود على برنامجها النووي.

US President Donald Trump said that if an agreement is not reached with Iran, the consequences will be dire.
This came in a blog post on his account on the “Truth Social” platform, which he owns, on Monday evening, in which he denied allegations that US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kaine opposes carrying out a major operation against Iran.
Trump added that the decision regarding Iran belongs to him personally, and that if a decision is made to attack it, Ken will adhere to that and run the army with great efficiency.
He explained, “General Kane, like all of us, does not want to see war, but he believes that if a military decision is taken against Iran, it will be easy to achieve victory.”
He also sent a message to the leadership in Iran saying, “I am the one who makes the decision. I prefer to reach an agreement, but if that does not happen, it will be a very bad day for that country, and unfortunately for its people.”
Media reports reported that Dan Kane warned Trump that any potential military operation against Iran could lead to a long-term conflict.
The Axios news website also quoted two informed sources as saying that Kaine told Trump that an attack on Iran would “involve great risks.”
For weeks, the United States, at the instigation of IsraelBy strengthening its military forces in the Middle East, and threatening to carry out military action against Iran to force it to abandon its nuclear and missile programs and its “agents in the region.”
Last Tuesday, the Sultanate of Oman sponsored a round of negotiations between the two parties in Geneva, after a previous round in the capital, Muscat, on February 6.
The United States demands that Iran completely stop its uranium enrichment activities, transfer enriched uranium out of the country, and threatens to use military force against it.
Tehran believes that Washington and Israel are creating pretexts to intervene and change the regime there, and vows to respond to any military attack, even if it is limited, while it adheres to lifting Western economic sanctions in exchange for imposing restrictions on its nuclear program.
