قال مسؤول أميركي لـ”رويترز” إن الرئيس دونالد ترمب تلقى قبيل الهجوم على إيران إحاطات لم تقدم فقط تقييمات صريحة في شأن احتمال وقوع خسائر كبيرة في صفوف القوات الأميركية، بل أشارت أيضاً إلى احتمال حدوث تحول يستمر لأجيال في الشرق الأوسط يصب في مصلحة الولايات المتحدة.
وأدى شن ما وصفتها وزارة الدفاع الأميركية (البنتاغون) بـ”عملية ملحمة الغضب” اليوم السبت إلى إدخال الشرق الأوسط في صراع جديد لا يمكن توقع نتائجه.
واستهدف الجيشان الأميركي والإسرائيلي مواقع في أنحاء إيران، مما دفع طهران إلى شن هجمات على إسرائيل ودول عربية خليجية قريبة.
وأضاف المسؤول الذي رفض الكشف عن هويته إن مقدمي الإحاطات وصفوا العملية للرئيس بأنها تحمل أخطاراً وفوائد كبيرة أيضاً.
وبدا أن ترمب نفسه يردد ذلك المعنى عندما أقر بحجم الأخطار مع انطلاق العملية، قائلاً “قد نفقد حياة أبطال أميركيين شجعان”.
وأردف ترمب خلال خطاب مصور لإعلان بدء عمليات قتالية كبرى “لكننا لا نفعل هذا من أجل الحاضر، بل نفعله من أجل المستقبل، وهي مهمة نبيلة”.
وتابع “على مدى 47 عاماً، ظل النظام الإيراني يهتف بالموت لأميركا ويشن حملة لا تنتهي من إراقة الدماء والقتل الجماعي… لن نتحمل ذلك بعد الآن”.
وتساعد الإحاطات التي تلقاها ترمب من فريقه للأمن القومي في تفسير كيف قرر الرئيس المضي قدماً في ما يُعد على الأرجح أخطر عملية عسكرية أميركية منذ غزو العراق عام 2003.
وقبيل الهجمات، تلقى ترمب إحاطات عدة من مسؤولين من بينهم مدير وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأميركية جون راتكليف ورئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة الجنرال دان كين ووزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو ووزير الدفاع بيت هيغسيث.
وسافر الأميرال براد كوبر الذي يقود القوات الأميركية في الشرق الأوسط بصفته قائد القيادة المركزية، أول من أمس الخميس إلى واشنطن للمشاركة في محادثات داخل غرفة العمليات في البيت الأبيض.
وقال مسؤول أميركي ثانٍ إن البيت الأبيض كان قد تلقى قبل الهجمات إحاطات في شأن عدد من الأخطار المرتبطة بشن عمليات ضد إيران، من بينها إطلاق صواريخ إيرانية على قواعد أميركية عدة في المنطقة قد تربك أنظمة الدفاع، فضلاً عن احتمال قيام جماعات مرتبطة بإيران بمهاجمة قوات أميركية في العراق وسوريا.
وأضاف المسؤول أنه على رغم الحشد العسكري الأميركي الضخم، فإن أنظمة الدفاع الجوي التي جرى نشرها على عجل في المنطقة كانت محدودة.
ويحذر الخبراء من أن الصراع قد يتخذ منعطفات خطرة، وأوضح المسؤول الأول أن تخطيط “البنتاغون” لا يبدو أنه يضمن نتيجة أي صراع.
ودعا ترمب الإيرانيين إلى إسقاط الحكومة، لكن نيكول غرابوسكي من مؤسسة “كارنيجي للسلام الدولي” قالت إن تنفيذ ذلك أصعب بكثير من مجرد الدعوة إليه.
وأضافت أن “المعارضة الإيرانية منقسمة إلى حد كبير. وليس من الواضح ما الذي قد يكون السكان على استعداد للقيام به على صعيد الانتفاض”.
وطلب المسؤولان الأميركيان عدم الكشف عن هويتيهما بسبب حساسية المحادثات الداخلية.
ولم يرد البيت الأبيض حتى الآن على طلبات للتعليق، فيما أحجم “البنتاغون” عن التعقيب.
وقال ترمب إن الضربات تهدف إلى تدمير الصواريخ الإيرانية والقضاء على أسطولها البحري، وذكر ضمن مقطع مصور نشره على منصة “تروث سوشال”، “اتخذت إدارتي كل الخطوات الممكنة لتقليل الخطر على الأميركيين في المنطقة. لكني لا أدلي بهذا التصريح باستخفاف، النظام الإيراني يسعى إلى القتل”، وأضاف “قد تزهق أرواح أبطال أميركيين شجعان، وربما نمنى بخسائر بشرية، مما يحدث عادة خلال الحروب. لكننا نفعل هذا، ليس من أجل الحاضر، وإنما من أجل المستقبل. وهي مهمة نبيلة”.
وذكر البيت الأبيض لاحقاً أنه لا توجد خطط مؤكدة لإلقاء ترمب خطاباً للأمة، وكان ترمب وصل إلى بالم بيتش في ولاية فلوريدا في وقت متأخر أمس الجمعة.

A US official told Reuters that President Donald Trump received briefings prior to the attack on Iran that not only provided frank assessments of the possibility of heavy casualties among US forces, but also indicated the possibility of a generational shift in the Middle East that would be in the interest of the United States.
The launch of what the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) described as “Operation Epic Rage” on Saturday led to the Middle East being plunged into a new conflict whose results cannot be predicted.
The US and Israeli armies targeted sites across Iran, prompting Tehran to launch attacks on Israel and nearby Gulf Arab countries.
The official, who declined to reveal his identity, added that the briefers described the operation to the president as carrying great risks and benefits as well.
Trump himself seemed to echo that meaning when he acknowledged the extent of the dangers with the launch of the operation, saying, “We may lose the lives of brave American heroes.”
Trump added during a video speech announcing the start of major combat operations, “But we are not doing this for the present. We are doing it for the future, and it is a noble mission.”
He continued, “For 47 years, the Iranian regime has been chanting death to America and waging an endless campaign of extermination”Bloodshed and mass murder… we will not tolerate this any longer.”
The briefings Trump received from his national security team help explain how the president decided to proceed with what is likely the most dangerous US military operation since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Prior to the attacks, Trump received several briefings from officials, including CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Keane, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Admiral Brad Cooper, who leads US forces in the Middle East as Commander of Central Command, traveled the day before yesterday, Thursday, to Washington to participate in talks inside the White House Situations Room.
A second American official said that before the attacks, the White House had received briefings regarding a number of dangers associated with launching operations against Iran, including the launching of Iranian missiles at several American bases in the region that might confuse defense systems, as well as the possibility of groups linked to Iran attacking American forces in Iraq and Syria.
The official added that despite the huge US military buildup, the air defense systems that were deployedHa hurry the area was limited.
Experts warn that the conflict may take dangerous turns, and the first official explained that the Pentagon’s planning does not seem to guarantee the outcome of any conflict.

But I do not make this statement lightly.
