أعلنت البحرية في سريلانكا اليوم الأربعاء انتشال “عدد من جثث” البحارة الذين كانوا على متن فرقاطة إيرانية غرقت قبالة ساحل الجزيرة الجنوبي بعد انفجار تحدّث عنه بعض أفراد الطاقم، في ظل الحرب الأميركية- الإسرائيلية على إيران.
وقال المتحدث باسم البحرية السريلانكية بوديكا سامباث للصحافيين في كولومبو “عثرنا على عدد من الجثث في المنطقة حيث غرقت السفينة”، مشيراً إلى أن البحث متواصل عن آخرين.
وأفاد وزير الخارجية السريلانكي فيجيتا هيراث البرلمان في وقت سابق اليوم الأربعاء بأن 180 شخصاً كانوا على متن الفرقاطة “إيريس دينا” التي غرقت بعدما وجّهت نداء استغاثة.
قال نائب وزير الخارجية السريلانكي للتلفزيون المحلي اليوم الأربعاء إن 80 شخصاً على الأقل لقوا حتفهم في هجوم غواصة أميركية على سفينة حربية إيرانية في المحيط الهندي.
وقالت مصادر في البحرية ووزارة الدفاع السريلانكية لـ”رويترز”، اليوم الأربعاء، إن شخصاً لقي حتفه وأصيب 78 آخرون وبقي 101 في عداد المفقودين بعد أن هاجمت غواصة سفينة إيرانية قبالة سواحل سريلانكا، ولم يتضح بعد المسؤول عن الهجوم على السفينة التي ذكرت المصادر أنها غرقت الآن.
لكن صرح ثلاثة مسؤولين أميركيين لـ”رويترز” اليوم الأربعاء بأن الجيش الأميركي شن غارة استهدفت سفينة حربية إيرانية قبالة سواحل سريلانكا مما دفع البحرية السريلانكية إلى إنقاذ عشرات البحارة الإيرانيين.
وذكر أحد المسؤولين، الذي طلب عدم نشر اسمه بسبب حساسية الموضوع، أن الغارة نفذتها غواصة عسكرية أميركية.
وتعد الضربات الأميركية على البحرية الإيرانية جزءاً أساسياً من الحرب ضد إيران، التي شنتها الولايات المتحدة السبت الماضي.
وقالت القيادة المركزية للجيش الأميركي أمس الثلاثاء إنها أغرقت بالفعل 17 سفينة حربية إيرانية وإنها في طريقها لتدمير البحرية الإيرانية بأكملها.
وقال متحدث باسم البحرية السريلانكية إن ما تردد حول فقدان 101 شخص غير صحيح، وإن 32 شخصاً أصيبوا في الحادث وأنقذتهم البحرية السريلانكية ويخضعون للعلاج في المستشفى، وفقاً لما ذكرته وكالة “رويترز”.
ونقلت صحيفة “ديلي ميرور سريلانكا” عن المتحدث باسم القوات البحرية القول إن مهمة الإنقاذ تهدف لإجلاء من هم على متن السفينة، بما أن الحادث وقع ضمن منطقة البحث والإنقاذ الخاصة بسريلانكا، وأشار إلى أنه “لا يمكن تقديم تفاصيل عن عدد من لقوا حتفهم حتى الآن”.
وحول ما يتردد أن السفينة أرسلت نداء استغاثة بعدما تعرضت لهجوم، أوضح المتحدث “لم نرصد أي طائرة في المنطقة عند تلقي الاستغاثة”.
وقال أنيل جاسينج، المسؤول البارز بوزارة الصحة إن أحد المصابين حالته خطيرة، ويتلقى سبعة أشخاص العلاج الطارئ، في حين أصيب الآخرون بإصابات طفيفة.
وذكر وزير خارجية سريلانكا فيجيتا هيراث في إفادة أمام البرلمان، في وقت سابق اليوم، أن البحرية استجابت لنداء استغاثة من السفينة وبدأت عمليات الإنقاذ في الساعة السادسة صباحاً بالتوقيت المحلي (12.30 بتوقيت غرينتش).

The Daily Mirror Sri Lanka newspaper quoted a Navy spokesman as saying that the rescue mission aims to evacuate those on board the ship, since the accident occurred within Sri Lanka’s search and rescue area. He pointed out that “details cannot be provided about the number of people who died.””They are dead so far.”
Regarding reports that the ship sent a distress call after it was attacked, the spokesman explained, “We did not detect any aircraft in the area when the distress call was received.”
Anil Jasinghe, a senior official at the Ministry of Health, said that one of the injured was in serious condition, and seven people were receiving emergency treatment, while the others sustained minor injuries.
Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijita Herath stated in a statement before Parliament, earlier today, that the navy responded to a distress call from the ship and began rescue operations at six in the morning local time (12.30 GMT).
