أعلنت رئيسة فنزويلا بالوكالة ديلسي رودريغيز إقالة وزير الدفاع فلاديمير بادرينو الذي تولى قيادة القوات المسلحة خلال ولاية الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو قبيل اعتقاله بيد قوات خاصة أميركية.
وكتبت رودريغيز التي تتولى الرئاسة منذ اعتقال مادورو في مطلع يناير (كانون الثاني) الماضي على تطبيق تيليغرام، “نشكر للجنرال فلاديمير بادرينو لوبيز تفانيه وولاءه للوطن، وكونه طوال الأعوام الماضية الجندي الأول في الدفاع عن بلدنا. ونحن واثقون بأنه سيتحمل بالقدر نفسه من الالتزام والشرف المسؤوليات الجديدة التي ستسند إليه”.
وكان بادرينو (62 سنة) تولى حقيبة الدفاع خلال عام 2014.
وكان الجيش الذي يعد ركيزة أساس من ركائز عقيدة هوغو تشافيز الذي خلفه مادورو في السلطة أعلن “الولاء” المطلق لبادرينو.
وعينت رودريغير محله غوستافو غونزاليس لوبيز، رئيس الحرس الرئاسي الذي يتولى أيضاً رئاسة وحدة مكافحة التجسس منذ اعتقال مادورو.
ويسيطر الجيش في فنزويلا على الشركات المنجمية والنفطية وتلك التي تعنى بتوزيع المواد الغذائية، فضلاً عن الجمارك ووزارات وازنة، في ظل انتهاكات فادحة وفساد مستشرٍ.
روبيو ينفي الحض على إطاحة الرئيس الكوبي
في موازاة ذلك نفى وزير الخارجية الأميركي ماركو روبيو تقريراً يفيد بأن مسؤولين أميركيين حضوا كوبا على إطاحة رئيسها ميغيل دياز-كانيل.
وأفاد روبيو ضمن منشور على “إكس” بأن التقرير الذي نشرته صحيفة “نيويورك تايمز” زائف، وهو من بين تقارير إعلامية تستند إلى “دجالين وكذابين يزعمون بأنهم على اطلاع” كمصادر.
وذكرت الصحيفة الإثنين الماضي أن مسؤولين في إدارة دونالد ترمب طلبوا من كوبا إطاحة الرئيس، لكنهم لم يضغطوا من أجل إطاحة حكومته الشيوعية بالكامل.
ولم يوضح روبيو إن كان ينفي التقرير بأكمله أو أجزاء محددة منه.
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن مسؤولين أميركيين يرون أن دياز-كانيل شخصية متشددة ترفض أي تغيير، لكن واشنطن لم تبلغ حد إصدار إنذار نهائي لإطاحته.
ودعا روبيو وهو كوبي أميركي كان عضواً في مجلس الشيوخ، على مدى أعوام لوضع حد للحكم الشيوعي في كوبا الذي أسس له فيدل كاسترو خلال ثورة عام 1959.
وأفاد روبيو الصحافيين أول من أمس الثلاثاء أن على كوبا أن تقوم بتحرك أكبر من الإجراءات الجديدة التي اتخذتها للسماح للكوبيين في الخارج بالاستثمار وتملك الأعمال التجارية في الجزيرة التي شهدت قبل يوم انقطاعاً للكهرباء عم البلاد.
وكثف ترمب الضغط على كوبا التي تعاني أزمة اقتصادية، وأجبر فنزويلا على وقف إرسال النفط الذي شكل نصف حاجات هافانا.
وأعلن ترمب أنه مهتم بـ”اتفاق” لم يحدد طبيعته مع كوبا لكنه أشار خلال الوقت ذاته إلى أنه قادر على السيطرة على الدولة التي قال إنها ضعيفة.
وبخلاف فنزويلا وإيران التي تشن الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل حرباً عليها منذ الـ28 من فبراير (شباط) الماضي، لا تملك كوبا ثروة نفطية لكنها تحمل أهمية بالنسبة إلى السياسات الداخلية الأميركية.
وكثيراً ما طالب النواب الكوبيون الأميركيون بالضغط على هافانا، علماً أن معظمهم من الحزب الجمهوري.

Rodrigues replaced Gustavo Gonzalez Lopez, the head of the presidential guard who has also headed the counterintelligence unit since Maduro’s arrest.

Rubio denies urging the overthrow of the Cuban president
