أعلن الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي أن بلاده خسرت أكثر من 46 ألف جندي في الحرب ضد روسيا حتى الآن.
جاء ذلك خلال مقابلته مع شبكة “إن بي سي نيوز” الأمريكية، الأحد.
وفي إشارة إلى خسائر الجيش الأوكراني، قال زيلينسكي: “قتل أكثر من 46 ألف جندي أوكراني”.
ولفت إلى أن نحو من 380 ألف جندي أوكراني أصيبوا، وأن عشرات الآلاف من الأوكرانيين فُقدوا أو تم أسرهم بسبب الحرب، إضافة إلى اختطاف 19500 طفل قسرا إلى روسيا.
وفي تقييمه لمبادرات الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب لإنهاء الحرب، قال زيلينسكي إنه تحدث معه هاتفيا الأسبوع الماضي.
وأضاف أن ترامب يعتقد أنه لديه القدرة على إجبار الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين على إجراء محادثات سلام.
وأكد أن أوروبا، إلى جانب الولايات المتحدة وأوكرانيا وروسيا، يجب أن تكون حاضرة على الطاولة في أي مفاوضات محتملة لإنهاء الحرب بصورة عادلة.
وأردف: “لن نقبل بأن تكون أراضينا المحتلة أراض روسية. لن نفعل هذا أبدا”.
وأكد أن المساعدات العسكرية الأميركية مهمة جدا لأوكرانيا مع استمرار الحرب.
والأحد، قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب إنه قد يجتمع مع الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين “قريبا جدا”، مبينا أنهم يريدون وقف الحرب بين روسيا وأوكرانيا.
وأجرى ترامب محادثات هاتفية منفصلة مع كل من بوتين وزيلينسكي في 12 فبراير/شباط الجاري وقال إن وفدين أمريكي وروسي سيعقدان اجتماعا في المملكة العربية السعودية.
ومنذ 24 فبراير/ شباط 2022، تشن روسيا هجوما عسكريا على جارتها أوكرانيا، وتشترط لإنهائه تخلي كييف عن الانضمام إلى كيانات عسكرية غربية، وهو ما تعتبره الأخيرة تدخلا في شؤونها.
