أعلن الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، أنهم وقعوا اتفاقية للحصول على قرض مع بريطانيا، وأن الأموال القادمة من هذا القرض ستُوجه إلى إنتاج الأسلحة في أوكرانيا.
وفي منشور على حسابه بمنصة إكس، ذكر زيلينسكي أنه خلال لقائه مع رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر في لندن، ناقشوا التحديات التي تواجهها أوكرانيا وأوروبا، والتنسيق المشترك، والخطوات التي ستُتخذ لتعزيز موقف أوكرانيا في مواجهة روسيا، بالإضافة إلى سعيهم لإنهاء الحرب بسلام عادل وضمانات أمنية.
كما أشار زيلينسكي، إلى أن ستارمر، قدم رسالة دعم مبدئية، وأعلن على توقيع اتفاقية للحصول على قرض من بريطانيا.
أوضح أن الأموال التي ستُخصص بموجب هذه الاتفاقية ستُوجه إلى إنتاج الأسلحة في أوكرانيا.
وقال زيلينسكي، إنّ “القرض سيتم سداده من العائدات الناتجة عن الأصول الروسية المجمدة. هذه هي العدالة الحقيقية”.
وأضاف: “من بدأ الحرب يجب أن يدفع ثمنها. أشكر شعب وحكومة المملكة المتحدة على دعمهم الكبير منذ بداية الحرب”.
وتابع: “نحن سعداء لأن لدينا شريكًا استراتيجيًا مثلهم، ولأننا نتشارك نفس الرؤية بشأن مستقبل آمن”.
وأعلنت بريطانيا، السبت، تقديم قرض بقيمة 2.6 مليار جنيه إسترليني (نحو 3.2 مليار دولار) إلى أوكرانيا لتعزيز قدراتها الدفاعية، وفقا لاتفاق تم توقيعه بين وزير المالية الأوكراني سيرهي مارشينكو، ووزيرة الخزانة البريطانية راشيل ريفز.
وفي وقت سابق، التقى ستارمر، بزيلينسكي، في لندن قبيل يوم من القمة المخصصة لبحث ملف أوكرانيا، الأحد، في لندن.
