قال وزير الدولة البريطاني لشؤون الشرق الأوسط هاميش فالكونر، إن إسرائيل ملزمة بتنفيذ التدابير المؤقتة الصادرة عن محكمة العدل الدولية.
ودعا إلى رفع القيود المفروضة على المساعدات الإنسانية الداخلة إلى غزة على الفور.
جاء ذلك خلال كلمة لفالكونر، الأربعاء، خلال جلسة في البرلمان البريطاني تناولت الوضع في قطاع غزة.
وشدد فالكونر، على أن عرقلة إسرائيل للمساعدات الإنسانية أمر “مروّع”.
وأضاف: “أطنان من المواد الغذائية متروكة حالياً لتتعفن على حدود غزة مع إسرائيل، بينما تتم عرقلة وصولها إلى أناس على وشك الموت جوعاً”.
وذكر أن وزراء إسرائيليين يقولون إن قرار منع المساعدات يُستخدم كـ”أداة ضغط”، واصفا ذلك بأنه تصرف قاسٍ ولا يمكن الدفاع عنه.
وأردف: “قُتل المزيد من الفلسطينيين في غارات إسرائيلية خلال ليلة واحدة، ويجب وضع حد لهذا”.
من جهة أخرى، لفت فالكونر، إلى استمرار الدعوى التي رفعتها جنوب إفريقيا ضد إسرائيل في محكمة العدل الدولية بتهمة الإبادة الجماعية.
وفي هذا الصدد، قال: “ندعم محكمة العدل الدولية واستقلاليتها، وقد أصدرت المحكمة سلسلة من التدابير المؤقتة في هذه القضية، ونحن نؤيد هذه التدابير، وإسرائيل ملزمة بتنفيذها”.
وفي 26 يناير/ كانون الثاني 2024 أمرت محكمة العدل الدولية باتخاذ تدابير مؤقتة تلزم إسرائيل بإدخال المساعدات إلى غزة.
ثم أصدرت المحكمة قرارا آخرا في 28 مارس/ آذار 2024، ينص على إضافة تدابير أخرى للإجراءات المؤقتة يلزم تل أبيب بتوفير الخدمات والمساعدات لفلسطينيي غزة دون عوائق، وضمان عدم قيام قواتها بارتكاب أعمال “تشكل انتهاكا لأي من حقوق الفلسطينيين في غزة كمجموعة محمية بموجب اتفاقية منع الإبادة الجماعية”.
وتواصل إسرائيل بدعم أمريكي، منذ 7 أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول 2023، ارتكاب جرائم إبادة جماعية في غزة خلّفت أكثر من 172 ألف قتيل وجريح من الفلسطينيين، معظمهم أطفال ونساء، وما يزيد على 11 ألف مفقود.

British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs, Hamish Falconer, stated that Israel is obligated to implement the provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Falconer also highlighted the ongoing case South Africa filed against Israel at the ICJ accusing it of genocide.
In this regard, he said: “We support the ICJ and its independence. The court has issued a series of provisional measures in this case, and we endorse these measures. Israel is obligated to implement them.”
On January 26, 2024, the ICJ ordered provisional measures requiring Israel to allow aid into Gaza.
The court then issued another ruling on March 28, 2024, adding further provisional measures obligating Tel Aviv to provide services and aid to Palestinians in Gaza without obstruction and to ensure its forces do not commit acts “that violate any rights of Palestinians in Gaza as a protected group under the Genocide Convention.”
