أصيب 47 شخصا بإصابات مختلفة، جراء صدم سيارة، أمس الاثنين، حشودا من المحتفلين بفوز نادي ليفربول بالدوري الإنجليزي.
وعقب الحادث، عقدت نائبة رئيس شرطة منطقة “ميرسيسايد”، جيني سيمز، مؤتمرا صحفيا مع مسؤولين في خدمتي الإسعاف والإطفاء، لتقديم إحاطة حول تداعيات الأمر.
وقالت “سيمز” إن عددا كبيرا من الأشخاص أصيبوا جراء الحادث ونُقلوا إلى المستشفى.
وأضافت أنه تم توقيف “رجل بريطاني أبيض” يبلغ من العمر 53 عاما، من سكان منطقة ليفربول عقب الحادث، مبينة أنهم يعتقدون بأن هذا الشخص هو سائق السيارة التي نفذت الهجوم.

وأضاف في المؤتمر الصحفي نفسه، أن شخصين من بين المصابين – أحدهما طفل – في حالة خطرة، مشيرًا إلى أن سيارة صدمت أحد المسعفين على دراجة هوائية.
