أعلن وزير خارجية عمان بدر البوسعيدي، السبت، أن المحادثات الإيرانية الأمريكية التي كان مقررا انعقادها في مسقط، غدا الأحد، لن يتم عقدها.
وقال البوسعيدي، على حسابه بمنصة إكس: “المحادثات الإيرانية الأمريكية المقرر عقدها في مسقط الأحد المقبل، لن تعقد الآن”.
وأضاف “لكن الدبلوماسية والحوار يظلان السبيل الوحيد لتحقيق السلام الدائم”.
والخميس، قال البوسعيدي عبر إكس: “يسعدني أن أؤكد أن جولة المحادثات الإيرانية الأمريكية (السادسة) ستعقد الأحد المقبل في مسقط”، دون تفاصيل أخرى.
وجاء إعلان البوسعيدي عدم انعقاد جولة المفاوضات الأحد، عقب بدء إسرائيل فجر الجمعة، بدعم ضمني من الولايات المتحدة، هجوما واسعا على إيران بعشرات المقاتلات، أسمته “الأسد الصاعد”، وقصفت خلاله منشآت نووية وقواعد صواريخ بمناطق مختلفة واغتالت قادة عسكريين بارزين وعلماء نوويين.
وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي إن الهجوم “استباقي” وجاء بتوجيهات من المستوى السياسي، فيما أعلن رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو أن العملية “غير المسبوقة” تهدف إلى “ضرب البنية التحتية النووية الإيرانية، ومصانع الصواريخ الباليستية، والعديد من القدرات العسكرية الأخرى”.
وفي مساء اليوم نفسه، بدأت إيران الرد على الهجوم بسلسلة من الضربات الصاروخية الباليستية والطائرات المسيّرة، بلغ عدد موجاتها ستة، ما أدى – بحسب وسائل إعلام عبرية – إلى مقتل ثلاثة إسرائيليين وإصابة 172 آخرين بجروح متفاوتة، فضلا عن أضرار مادية كبيرة طالت مباني ومركبات.
والهجوم الإسرائيلي الحالي على إيران يعد الأوسع من نوعه، ويمثل انتقالا واضحا من “حرب الظل” التي كانت تديرها تل أبيب ضد طهران عبر التفجيرات والاغتيالات، إلى صراع عسكري مفتوح يتجاوز ما شهده الشرق الأوسط منذ سنوات.
وتتهم الولايات المتحدة وحليفتها إسرائيل ودول أخرى إيران بالسعي إلى إنتاج أسلحة نووية، بينما تقول طهران إن برنامجها مصمم لأغراض سلمية، بما في ذلك توليد الكهرباء.
وتعد إسرائيل الدولة الوحيد في المنطقة التي تمتلك ترسانة نووية، وهي غير خاضعة لرقابة دولية ولم تعلن عنها رسميا، فيما تواصل منذ عقود احتلال أراضٍ عربية بفلسطين وسوريا ولبنان.

Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi announced on Saturday that the Iranian-American talks scheduled to take place in Muscat tomorrow, Sunday, have been cancelled.
In a post on his X platform account, al-Busaidi stated: “The Iranian-American talks scheduled to take place in Muscat next Sunday will not be held now.”
He added: “However, diplomacy and dialogue remain the only path to achieving lasting peace.”
On Thursday, al-Busaidi had posted on X: “I am pleased to confirm that the sixth round of Iranian-American talks will take place next Sunday in Muscat,” without providing further details.
Al-Busaidi’s announcement of the cancellation came after Israel launched a massive attack on Iran at dawn on Friday with dozens of fighter jets. The operation, codenamed “Rising Lion” and backed by implicit U.S. support, targeted nuclear facilities and missile bases across various regions, assassinating senior military leaders and nuclear scientists.
The Israeli army described the attack as “preemptive” and directed at the political level. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the “unprecedented operation” aimed to “strike Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, ballistic missile factories, and numerous other military capabilities.”
Later that same evening, Iran began retaliating with a series of six waves of ballistic missile and drone strikes. According to Hebrew media reports, this resulted in three Israeli fatalities and 172 injuries of varying severity, in addition to significant material damage to buildings and vehicles.
This ongoing Israeli attack on Iran marks the largest of its kind, representing a clear shift from the “shadow war” Tel Aviv had waged against Tehran through bombings and assassinations to an open military conflict surpassing anything seen in the Middle East in years.
The United States, its ally Israel, and other countries accuse Iran of seeking to produce nuclear weapons, while Tehran insists its program is designed for peaceful purposes, including electricity generation.
Israel remains the only country in the region possessing a nuclear arsenal. It is not subject to international oversight and has never officially declared its nuclear capabilities. For decades, Israel has continued to occupy Arab territories in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon.
