انفجر صاروخ “ستارشيب” التابع لشركة “سبايس إكس” المملوكة للملياردير إيلون ماسك، خلال تجارب روتينية في قاعدة “ستاربيس” في ولاية تكساس، من دون وقوع جرحى، على ما أعلنت السلطات المحلية اليوم الخميس.
وقالت سلطات مقاطعة كامرون في ولاية تكساس، عبر صفحتها في “فيسبوك”، “عند الساعة 23:01 (بالتوقيت المحلي) الأربعاء، وخلال اختبار روتيني في ’ستاربيس‘ في تكساس، تعرض صاروخ ’ستارشيب 36‘ التابع لشركة ’سبايس إكس‘ لعطل كارثي وانفجر”. وأضافت “لحسن الحظ، لم تسجل أية إصابات حتى الآن. واتخذت سريعاً إجراءات طارئة، فيما يجري التحقيق لتحديد سبب الحادثة”.
وأكدت “سبايس إكس”، في منشور عبر منصة “إكس”، أن “صاروخ ’ستارشيب‘ الذي كان يجري تحضيره لإجراء اختبار عاشر له، تعرض لخلل كبير وهو مثبت على منصة اختبار في ’ستاربيس‘”، مضيفة أن “منطقة أمان كانت مفروضة حول الموقع طوال العملية”، وأن “جميع الأفراد بأمان ولم يصابوا بأذى”.
وتابعت “تنشط فرقنا في ’ستاربيس‘ لجعل موقع الاختبار ومحيطه المباشر آمناً بالتعاون مع السلطات المحلية”، مؤكدة “عدم وجود أي خطر على السكان”.
على صعيد آخر، رفعت منصة “إكس” للتواصل الاجتماعي المملوكة لإيلون ماسك دعوى للطعن في قانون يعنى بالإشراف على محتوى المنصات أقرته سلطات ولاية نيويورك، ويعتبر مالك المنصة التي كانت تحمل اسم “تويتر” أن القانون المذكور ينتهك حرية التعبير.
وأشارت “إكس” في الدعوى المرفوعة الثلاثاء أمام المحكمة الفيدرالية في نيويورك إلى أن القانون الصادر في أواخر عام 2024، الذي يلزم شركات التواصل الاجتماعي بالكشف عن معلومات حساسة في شأن كيفية إشرافها على المحتوى الذي ينطوي على الكراهية أو المتضمن معلومات مضللة، ينتهك التعديل الأول للدستور الأميركي. وأضافت “إكس” في الدعوى “إن الدولة تحاول بصورة غير مقبولة، إثارة جدل عام في شأن الإشراف على المحتوى بطريقة تضغط على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، ومنها إكس، لكي تقيد بعض المحتوى المحمي دستورياً أو تحد منه أو تمارس الرقابة عليه”.
وانتقدت منظمة “مراسلون بلا حدود” الدعوى، معتبرة أن “إكس” تستغل مفهوم حرية التعبير خدمة لمصالحها الخاصة، مع العلم أن القانون الذي أقرته سلطات نيويورك لا يلزم المنصات إلا برفع تقرير مرتين سنوياً في شأن الإجراءات المتخذة لمكافحة التضليل والكراهية عبر الإنترنت.
ومنذ استحواذه على “تويتر” في نهاية عام 2022، قرر إيلون ماسك إلغاء سياسة الإشراف على المحتوى من الموقع الذي أعاد تسميته بـ”إكس”.

SpaceX’s Starship rocket, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, exploded during routine tests at the Starbase facility in Texas without causing any injuries, local authorities announced on Thursday.
The Cameron County authorities in Texas stated on their Facebook page: “At 23:01 (local time) on Wednesday, during a routine test at Starbase in Texas, SpaceX’s Starship SN36 experienced a catastrophic anomaly and exploded.” They added, “Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Emergency procedures were swiftly implemented, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.”
SpaceX confirmed in a post on X: “The Starship rocket being prepared for its tenth test experienced a major anomaly while mounted on the test stand at Starbase,” noting that “a safety perimeter was enforced around the site throughout the operation,” and “all personnel are safe and unharmed.”
The company continued: “Our teams at Starbase are working to secure the test site and its immediate surroundings in coordination with local authorities,” emphasizing that “there is no danger to the public.”
Separately, X (the social media platform owned by Elon Musk) has filed a lawsuit challenging a content moderation oversight law enacted by New York State authorities. The owner of the platform formerly known as Twitter argues that the law violates freedom of expression.
In the lawsuit filed Tuesday in New York federal court, X contended that the law—passed in late 2024—which requires social media companies to disclose sensitive information about their moderation of hate speech and misinformation, violates the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. X stated in the lawsuit: “The state is impermissibly attempting to stir public controversy about content moderation in a way that pressures social media platforms, including X, to restrict, limit, or censor constitutionally protected content.”
Reporters Without Borders criticized the lawsuit, arguing that X is “exploiting the concept of free expression to serve its own interests,” noting that the New York law merely requires platforms to submit twice-yearly reports on measures taken to combat online hate and misinformation.
Since acquiring Twitter in late 2022, Elon Musk has dismantled the platform’s content moderation policies and rebranded it as “X.”
