توعد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب الاثنين، برفع الرسوم الجمركية على روسيا بنسبة 100 بالمئة في حال لم تتوصل إلى اتفاق مع أوكرانيا خلال 50 يوما.
وقال ترامب بتصريح صحفي من البيت الأبيض: “لست راضيا عن روسيا، وإذا لم تتوصل لاتفاق مع أوكرانيا خلال 50 يوما سنرفع الرسوم الجمركية عليها بنسبة 100 بالمئة”.
وذكر ترامب الذي استضاف الأمين العام لحلف شمال الأطلسي “الناتو” مارك روته في البيت الأبيض، إن الجانبين توصلا إلى اتفاق اليوم لإرسال أسلحة إلى أوكرانيا.
وأوضح أن الولايات المتحدة ستنتج الأسلحة التي سترسل لأوكرانيا وأن حلف الناتو سيغطي تكاليفها.
وأضاف أنه اتفق مع روته على أن ترسل الدول التي تمتلك أنظمة دفاع جوي “باتريوت” أسلحتها إلى أوكرانيا بسرعة.
وتابع “حاليا هناك دولة تمتلك 17 بطارية جاهزة للشحن، وأن الولايات المتحدة ستعيد تزويد تلك الدولة بالبطاريات التي سبق أن زودتها بها لاحقا”.
وأكد أن أوكرانيا ستحصل على الأسلحة اللازمة للدفاع عن نفسها.
بدوره، أكد روته أهمية قرار الولايات المتحدة بتزويد أوكرانيا بالسلاح، مشيرا إلى أنه سيجتمع مع الدول الأوروبية لتجهيز حاويات المساعدات العسكرية لأوكرانيا.
وشكر روته الرئيس ترامب على قراره بتقديم الدعم العسكري، داعيا الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين إلى أخذ الأمر على محمل الجد.
وأضاف “لو كنت مكان بوتين اليوم، لأعدت النظر في مدى جدية المفاوضات المتعلقة بأوكرانيا بدءا من الغد”.
وذكر أنه تواصل مع العديد من الدول، وأن ألمانيا وفنلندا والدنمارك والسويد وكندا وغيرها، ترغب في المشاركة في عملية نقل الأسلحة إلى أوكرانيا.
ومنذ 24 فبراير/ شباط 2022 تشن روسيا هجوما عسكريا على جارتها أوكرانيا وتشترط لإنهائه تخلي كييف عن الانضمام لكيانات عسكرية غربية، وهو ما تعتبره كييف “تدخلا” في شؤونها.
وكان ترامب نشر الاثنين الماضي رسائل تتضمن الرسوم الجمركية المفروضة على 14 دولة، هي تونس، وكوريا الجنوبية، وماليزيا، وكازاخستان، واليابان، وجنوب إفريقيا، والبوسنة والهرسك، وإندونيسيا، وصربيا، وبنغلاديش، وتايلاند، وكمبوديا، وميانمار، ولاوس.
وفي أبريل/ نيسان أعلن ترامب عن رسوم جمركية واسعة النطاق ضد معظم الشركاء التجاريين، قبل أن يعلّق تنفيذ معظمها حتى التاسع من يوليو/ تموز الجاري عقب اضطرابات شهدتها أسواق الأسهم والسندات.

On Monday, US President Donald Trump threatened to impose 100% tariffs on Russia if it does not reach an agreement with Ukraine within 50 days.
In a press statement from the White House, Trump said: “I am not satisfied with Russia, and if it does not reach an agreement with Ukraine within 50 days, we will impose 100% tariffs on it.”
Trump, who hosted NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the White House, stated that the two sides had reached an agreement today to send weapons to Ukraine.
He explained that the United States would produce the weapons to be sent to Ukraine and that NATO would cover their costs.
He added that he agreed with Stoltenberg that countries possessing Patriot air defense systems should send their weapons to Ukraine quickly.
He continued, “Currently, there is a country that has 17 batteries ready for shipment, and the United States will later resupply that country with the batteries it had previously provided.”
He affirmed that Ukraine would get the weapons necessary to defend itself.
For his part, Stoltenberg emphasized the importance of the US decision to supply Ukraine with weapons, indicating he would meet with European countries to prepare containers of military aid for Ukraine.
Stoltenberg thanked President Trump for his decision to provide military support, calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to take the matter seriously.
He added, “If I were Putin today, I would reconsider how seriously to take the negotiations concerning Ukraine starting tomorrow.”
He mentioned that he had contacted many countries, and that Germany, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, and others desire to participate in the process of transferring weapons to Ukraine.
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been waging a military attack on its neighbor Ukraine, conditioning its end on Kyiv abandoning joining Western military entities, which Kyiv considers “interference” in its affairs.
Last Monday, Trump had published messages including tariffs imposed on 14 countries: Tunisia, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Japan, South Africa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia, Serbia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos.
In April, Trump announced wide-ranging tariffs against most trade partners, before suspending the implementation of most of them until July 9th of this month following turbulence in stock and bond markets.
