أشاد الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس بإعلان نظيره الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون عزمه الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين في سبتمبر/ أيلول المقبل، واصفا القرار بأنه “خطوة شجاعة”.
كما أشاد بمواقف رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر، إزاء ما يتعرض له الفلسطينيون في قطاع غزة من تجويع وحرب إبادة ترتكبها إسرائيل.
جاء ذلك في تصريحات للرئيس عباس، الجمعة، نقلتها وكالة الأنباء الفلسطينية الرسمية “وفا”.
** الاعتراف الفرنسي
وذكرت الوكالة أن عباس رحب برسالة الرئيس ماكرون، التي أكد فيها أن فرنسا ستعترف بدولة فلسطين خلال الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في سبتمبر المقبل.
وأعرب عن تقديره لهذه “الخطوة الشجاعة التي ستسهم بإرساء السلام القائم على حل الدولتين وفق الشرعية الدولية والقانون الدولي”.
وقدم شكره وتقديره للجهود السعودية ومواقفها بقيادة الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز وولي عهده الأمير محمد بن سلمان التي أثمرت بالالتزام الفرنسي بالاعتراف بدولة فلسطين.
وقال عباس إن هذه الخطوة “انتصار للحق الفلسطيني، وتعكس حرص فرنسا على دعم شعبنا الفلسطيني وحقوقه الثابتة والمشروعة في أرضه ووطنه، والتزامها بالشرعية والقانون الدولي”.
وأكد أن “قرار فرنسا يأتي مساهمة من الدول المؤمنة بحل الدولتين كخيار يمثل الإرادة والشرعية الدولية، في إنقاذ هذا الحل الذي يتعرض للتدمير الممنهج جراء السياسات الإسرائيلية، خاصة من خلال استمرار حرب الإبادة الجماعية في قطاع غزة”.
والخميس، قال ماكرون: “وفاء بالتزامنا التاريخي بالسلام العادل والدائم في الشرق الأوسط، قررت أن تعترف فرنسا بدولة فلسطين وسأُعلن ذلك رسميا خلال اجتماعات الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة في سبتمبر المقبل”.
وحاليا، تعترف 149 دولة بفلسطين من أصل 193 دولة عضوا بالأمم المتحدة.
والخميس، هاجم مسؤولون إسرائيليون، في مقدمتهم رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو، قرار ماكرون اعتزامه الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين.
وقال نتنياهو في بيان صدر عن مكتبه: “ندين بشدة قرار الرئيس الفرنسي الاعتراف بدولة فلسطينية إلى جانب إسرائيل”.
وزعم أن خطوة ماكرون “تُعد مكافأة للإرهاب، وتهدد بخلق وكيل إيراني جديد، تمامًا كما تحولت غزة إلى وكيل إيراني”، وفق تعبيره.
** مواقف بريطانيا
وذكرت “وفا” أن عباس أشاد بتصريحات ستارمر التي أكد فيها أن الدولة حق غير قابل للتصرف للشعب الفلسطيني.
كما أشاد بتصريحات ستارمر التي أكد فيها “فداحة المعاناة الإنسانية والمجاعة التي يعيشها الشعب الفلسطيني في قطاع غزة، ودعوته إلى وقف القتل فوراً وإيصال المساعدات الإنسانية العاجلة، وصولا إلى وقف التهجير الذي ترفضه بريطانيا رفضا قاطعا”.
وقال عباس: “انطلاقا من هذا الموقف المبدئي المنسجم مع الشرعية الدولية والقانون الدولي، فإننا ندعو حكومة المملكة المتحدة إلى الاعتراف الرسمي بدولة فلسطين في أقرب وقت ممكن، الأمر الذي سيشكل خطوة تاريخية ستسهم في تعزيز التزامات بريطانيا الأخلاقية والقانونية، وتمهد الطريق نحو سلام عادل ودائم في المنطقة”.
كما دعا عباس، دول العالم التي لم تعترف بدولة فلسطين للقيام بذلك، مؤكدا أهمية حصول دولة فلسطين على العضوية الكاملة في الأمم المتحدة.
والخميس، علق رئيس الوزراء البريطاني على الحرب الإسرائيلية، قائلا: “المعاناة والمجاعة في غزة أمر لا يوصف ولا يمكن الدفاع عنه”.
يأتي ذلك في وقت تشن فيه إسرائيل بدعم أمريكي حرب إبادة جماعية بغزة تشمل القتل والتجويع والتدمير والتهجير القسري، متجاهلة النداءات الدولية كافة وأوامر لمحكمة العدل الدولية بوقفها.
وخلفت الإبادة، بدعم أمريكي، أكثر من 203 آلاف فلسطيني بين قتيل وجريح، معظمهم أطفال ونساء، وما يزيد على 9 آلاف مفقود، إضافة إلى مئات آلاف النازحين ومجاعة أزهقت أرواح كثيرين.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas praised French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of his intention to recognize the State of Palestine next September, describing the decision as a “courageous step.”
He also praised the positions of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer regarding the starvation and genocidal war being waged by Israel against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
This came in statements by President Abbas on Friday, reported by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.
French Recognition
The agency reported that Abbas welcomed President Macron’s message, in which he confirmed that France would recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly next September.
He expressed his appreciation for this “courageous step, which will contribute to establishing peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy and international law.”
He extended his thanks and appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its efforts and positions, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which resulted in the French commitment to recognize the State of Palestine.
Abbas said this step is a “victory for Palestinian rights, and reflects France’s keenness to support our Palestinian people and their fixed, legitimate rights to their land and homeland, and its commitment to international legitimacy and law.”
He affirmed that “France’s decision comes as a contribution from countries that believe in the two-state solution as an option representing international will and legitimacy, to save this solution which is being systematically destroyed due to Israeli policies, especially through the continuation of the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.”
On Thursday, Macron said: “Faithful to our historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the State of Palestine and I will announce this officially during the UN General Assembly meetings next September.”
Currently, 149 out of 193 UN member states recognize Palestine.
On Thursday, Israeli officials, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, attacked Macron’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine.
Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office: “We strongly condemn the French president’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state alongside Israel.”
He claimed that Macron’s step “amounts to rewarding terrorism and threatens to create a new Iranian proxy, just as Gaza became an Iranian proxy,” in his words.
British Positions
WAFA reported that Abbas praised Starmer’s statements affirming that statehood is an inalienable right of the Palestinian people.
He also praised Starmer’s statements confirming “the enormity of the humanitarian suffering and famine endured by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, his call for an immediate halt to the killing and the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid, and an end to displacement, which Britain categorically rejects.”
Abbas said: “Based on this principled position consistent with international legitimacy and international law, we call on the government of the United Kingdom to officially recognize the State of Palestine as soon as possible. This would constitute a historic step that would contribute to strengthening Britain’s moral and legal obligations and pave the way towards a just and lasting peace in the region.”
Abbas also called on countries of the world that have not recognized the State of Palestine to do so, stressing the importance of Palestine obtaining full membership in the United Nations.
On Thursday, the British Prime Minister commented on the Israeli war, saying: “The suffering and famine in Gaza are indescribable and indefensible.”
This comes as Israel, with American support, wages a genocidal war on Gaza involving killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to stop it.
The genocide, supported by the US, has resulted in more than 203,000 Palestinian casualties (killed and wounded), most of them children and women, over 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced and famine claiming many lives.
