أعلنت السلفادور أمس الأحد عن إصدار أحكام بالسجن في حق المئات من أعضاء عصابة إجرامية خطرة، حيث وصلت مدد أحكام بعض المدانين إلى مئات السنين.
وأورد مكتب المدعي العام في منشور على منصة “إكس” أن 248 عضواً من عصابة مارا سالفاتروتشا (أم أس-13) تلقوا “أحكاماً رادعة” لارتكابهم 43 جريمة قتل و42 حالة إخفاء قسري، إضافة إلى جرائم أخرى.
ولم يحدد المكتب تاريخ صدور هذه الأحكام أو ما إذا كانت المحاكمات قد جرت بصورة جماعية.
وأضاف المنشور أن أحد المدانين حكم عليه بالسجن لمدة 1335 عاماً، بينما تلقى 10 آخرون أحكاماً بالسجن تراوح ما بين 463 و958 عاماً.
ومنذ مارس (آذار) 2022 يشن الرئيس نجيب بوكيلي حملة قمع ضد العصابات في ظل حالة الطوارئ التي تسمح بالاعتقال من دون مذكرة توقيف.
ووفقاً لمصادر رسمية فقد تم احتجاز أكثر من 90 ألف شخص وأفرج عن نحو 8 آلاف آخرين بعد تبرئتهم.
ونجحت حملة بوكيلي ضد العصابات في خفض جرائم القتل إلى أدنى مستوياتها تاريخياً في السلفادور، لكن منظمات حقوق الإنسان تتهم قوات الأمن بارتكاب انتهاكات.
ووفقاً للحكومة السلفادورية فإن عصابة “أم أس-13” وعصابة أخرى تحمل اسم “باريو 18” تتحملان مسؤولية مقتل نحو 200 ألف شخص على مدى ثلاثة عقود.
وسيطرت العصابتان في وقت ما على نحو 80 في المئة من مساحة السلفادور التي سجلت حينها أحد أعلى معدلات جرائم القتل في العالم.
وتصنف الولايات المتحدة عصابة “أم أس-13” وعصابات أخرى في أميركا الوسطى والجنوبية، منظمات إرهابية أجنبية.

El Salvador announced yesterday, Sunday, the sentencing of hundreds of members of a dangerous criminal gang, with some of the convicted individuals receiving prison sentences amounting to hundreds of years.
In a post on the platform “X,” the Office of the Attorney General stated that 248 members of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang received “deterrent sentences” for committing 43 murders, 42 cases of enforced disappearance, in addition to other crimes.
The office did not specify the date of these rulings or whether the trials were conducted collectively.
The post added that one convict was sentenced to 1,335 years in prison, while 10 others received prison sentences ranging from 463 to 958 years.
Since March 2022, President Nayib Bukele has been waging a crackdown campaign against gangs under a state of emergency that allows arrests without a warrant.
According to official sources, over 90,000 people have been detained, and about 8,000 others have been released after being acquitted.
Bukele’s campaign against gangs has succeeded in reducing murder rates to historically low levels in El Salvador. However, human rights organizations accuse security forces of committing violations.
According to the Salvadoran government, the “MS-13” gang and another gang named “Barrio 18” are responsible for the deaths of approximately 200,000 people over three decades.
At one point, these two gangs controlled about 80% of El Salvador’s territory, during a period when the country recorded one of the highest murder rates in the world.
The United States classifies the “MS-13” gang and other gangs in Central and South America as foreign terrorist organizations.
