قال مصدران مطلعان اليوم الثلاثاء إن قوات الأمن السورية اعتقلت صحافياً إسلامياً أميركياً بارزاً كان ينتقد الحكومة السورية الجديدة وشراكتها الوليدة مع الولايات المتحدة.
وقال المصدران إن بلال عبد الكريم تم اعتقاله في مدينة الباب في محافظة حلب الشمالية أمس الإثنين، وكان عبد الكريم يقدم في الولايات المتحدة ثم تحول إلى صحافي معني بتغطية الحرب، وهو يعيش في سوريا منذ عام 2012 وعمل مع العديد من وسائل الإعلام الأجنبية.
ولم تستجب وزارة الإعلام السورية ولا متحدث باسم وزارة الداخلية ولا متحدث باسم المبعوث الأميركي الخاص إلى سوريا بعد لطلبات التعليق.
ويمثل عبد الكريم صوتاً بارزاً بين الإسلاميين الأجانب في سوريا، إذ أتاح المجال للتعبير عن آراء المتشددين الذين يرون أن الرئيس أحمد الشرع، الذي كان في السابق قائداً لفرع تنظيم “القاعدة” في سوريا، تنازل كثيراً عن القيم الإسلامية منذ توليه السلطة.
وفي أغسطس (آب) الماضي، قدم عبد الكريم التماساً إلى الدولة السورية لمنح الجنسية للجهاديين الأجانب الذين كانوا من بين مقاتلي المعارضة الذين تقدموا بقيادة “هيئة تحرير الشام” وأطاحوا بالرئيس المستبد بشار الأسد قبل عام.
ومنذ ذلك الحين، أصبح مصير المقاتلين الأجانب قضية ملحة، إذ إن قلة من الدول على استعداد لقبول عودة هؤلاء الأشخاص الذين غالباً ما تعتبرهم متطرفين ويشعر بعض السوريين بالقلق من وجودهم.
وحدت حكومة الشرع تدريجياً من المجال المتاح لهم للتعبير عن آرائهم، واعتقلت عدداً منهم، بما في ذلك بعض من لهم حضور كبير على الإنترنت.
وفي أحدث مقطع فيديو لعبد الكريم، انتقد قرار سوريا الانضمام إلى التحالف الدولي الذي تقوده الولايات المتحدة لمحاربة تنظيم “داعش”، ونُشر ذلك المقطع بعد يوم من قيام مسلح، قالت واشنطن ودمشق إنه عضو في تنظيم “داعش”، بقتل جنديين ومترجم مدني أميركيين في شرق سوريا.
ولم يعلن تنظيم “داعش” مسؤوليته عن الهجوم بشكل مباشر.
وفي مقطع الفيديو المنشور على موقع “إكس”، يقول عبد الكريم “لن أجمّل هذا الأمر، الذي سيوقعني في ورطة على الأرجح، ولكن هذه هي الحقيقة، ليس لدى الأميركيين أي أسباب مشروعة للتواجد هنا”. ويضيف “ببساطة لا يمكننا إضفاء الشرعية على وجود العدو، وأنا أقول إن أميركا هي عدو الشعب السوري”.

The Al-Sharaa government has gradually restricted the space for them to express their opinions and has arrested a number of them, including some with a significant online presence.
In his latest video, Abdul Kareem criticized Syria’s decision to join the U.S.-led international coalition to fight the Islamic State (ISIS). The video was published a day after a gunman, whom Washington and Damascus said was an ISIS member, killed two U.S. soldiers and an American civilian translator in eastern Syria.
ISIS did not directly claim responsibility for the attack.
In the video posted on X, Abdul Kareem says, “I won’t sugarcoat this, which will probably get me in trouble, but this is the truth: the Americans have no legitimate reasons to be here.” He adds, “We simply cannot legitimize the enemy’s presence, and I say America is the enemy of the Syrian people.”
