استبعد مدرب ليفربول آرني سلوت استدعاء هارفي إليوت من فترة إعارته إلى أستون فيلا التي تسير بصعوبة، بعد تأكد غياب ألكسندر إيساك “لشهرين” إثر تعرضه لكسر في الساق.
ودعا سلوت لاعبي ليفربول الذي يعاني نقصاً في الصفوف إلى “تشمير السواعد”، مؤكداً أن تركيزه ينصب على مباراتي الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز المقبلتين أمام ولفرهامبتون وليدز يونايتد، وليس على التحرك في سوق الانتقالات الشتوية من أجل مهاجم بورنموث أنطوان سيمينيو.
غيابات مؤثرة تضرب تشكيلة ليفربول
وسيفتقد بطل الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز خدمات إيساك ومحمد صلاح الذي يشارك في كأس الأمم الأفريقية حتى يناير (كانون الثاني)، إضافة إلى الموقوف دومينيك سوبوسلاي، عندما يستضيف ولفرهامبتون السبت المقبل، في حين وصفت حال كونور برادلي وكودي غاكبو بأنها “50-50”.
ولم يشارك إليوت في أي مباراة بالدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز مع أستون فيلا منذ سبتمبر (أيلول)، بعدما تم استبعاده من خطط المدرب أوناي إيمري، عقب انضمامه إلى النادي على سبيل الإعارة لموسم كامل، مع وجود بند إلزامي للشراء بقيمة 30 مليون جنيه استرليني (40.51 مليون دولار)، لكن بشرط أن يشارك في عدد محدد من المباريات.
وكان إليوت قد عانى قلة المشاركات تحت قيادة سلوت في الموسم الماضي، حيث بدأ ست مباريات فقط في جميع المسابقاًت، ولم يشارك أساساً في أي مباراة بالدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز إلا بعد تتويج ليفربول باللقب، لكن المهاجم القادر على شغل أكثر من مركز كان يمكن أن يشكل خياراً لمساعدة “الريدز” خلال هذه الفترة الصعبة.
منافسة شديدة على سيمينيو
في المقابل، ارتبط اسم سيمينيو بالانتقال إلى ليفربول، إذ يمتلك المهاجم البالغ من العمر 25 سنة شرطاً جزائياً بقيمة 65 مليون جنيه استرليني (87.78 مليون دولار)، يصبح سارياً في يناير. وارتبط اسمه أيضاً بكل من مانشستر يونايتد ومانشستر سيتي، بعدما سجل ثمانية أهداف في الدوري هذا الموسم.
وقال سلوت “كل تفكيري ينصب على المباراتين المقبلتين. مباراتان صعبتان مرة أخرى، وكلتاهما على أرضنا. أعتقد أن الوقت قد حان للاعبين المتاحين لدينا، كما فعلوا مرات عديدة، لأن يشمروا عن سواعدهم، وليس لاعبونا فحسب، بل جماهيرنا أيضاً، لمساعدتنا بأفضل طريقة ممكنة لتحقيق النتائج التي نريدها”.
“على اللاعبين المتاحين أن يقدموا كل ما لديهم، والجماهير، كما تفعل دائماً وأتوقع أن تفعل ذلك مرة أخرى الآن، ستدعمنا. هذا هو موضع تركيزي”.
وعند سؤاله عما إذا كان ليفربول قد بحث إمكان استدعاء إليوت من إعارته، أجاب سلوت “لا، هارفي لاعب في أستون فيلا، ومن المفترض أن يقضي هناك موسماً كاملاً. لذلك، الأسئلة المتعلقة به، من الأفضل توجيهها إلى أستون فيلا، وهم يقدمون موسماً جيداً للغاية، بالمناسبة”.

Liverpool manager Arne Slott has ruled out recalling Harvey Elliott from his struggling loan spell at Aston Villa, following confirmation that Alexander Isak will be sidelined for “two months” due to a leg fracture.
Slott called on Liverpool’s depleted squad to “roll up their sleeves,” emphasizing that his focus is on the upcoming two Premier League matches against Wolverhampton and Leeds United, rather than on a winter transfer move for Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo.
Significant Absences Hit Liverpool’s Squad
The Premier League champions will be without Isak and Mohamed Salah, who is participating in the Africa Cup of Nations until January, as well as the suspended Dominik Szoboszlai, when they host Wolverhampton next Saturday. The conditions of Conor Bradley and Cody Gakpo have been described as “50-50.”
Elliott has not featured in any Premier League matches for Aston Villa since September, having been excluded from manager Unai Emery’s plans after joining the club on a season-long loan with a mandatory purchase clause set at £30 million ($40.51 million), contingent on him playing a specified number of games.
Elliott saw limited playing time under Slot last season, starting only six matches across all competitions and not making a Premier League starting appearance until after Liverpool secured the title. However, the versatile forward could have been an option to assist the “Reds” during this challenging period.
Fierce Competition for Semenyo
Meanwhile, Semenyo has been linked with a move to Liverpool. The 25-year-old striker has a release clause of £65 million ($87.78 million) that becomes active in January. He has also been linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City, having scored eight league goals this season.
Slott stated, “All my thinking is focused on the next two matches. Two tough matches again, both at home. I think it’s time for the players we have available, as they have done many times, to roll up their sleeves—and not just our players, but our supporters as well—to help us in the best possible way to achieve the results we want.”
“The available players need to give everything they have, and the supporters, as they always do and I expect them to do so again now, will back us. That’s where my focus lies.”
When asked if Liverpool had explored the possibility of recalling Elliott from his loan, Slott replied, “No, Harvey is an Aston Villa player, and he is supposed to spend a full season there. Therefore, questions regarding him are better directed at Aston Villa, who, by the way, are having a very good season.”
