أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، وجود علاقة صداقة قوية بينه وبين الرئيس رجب طيب أردوغان، وأنه يكنّ للزعيم التركي احتراما كبيراً.
جاء ذلك في معرض رده على سؤال صحفي، مساء الاثنين، حول احتمال نشوب صراع بين تركيا وإسرائيل.
وقال ترامب في هذا الخصوص: “أعرف الرئيس (رجب طيب) أردوغان جيداً، فهو صديق عزيز لي. أكنّ له كل الاحترام. كما يكنّ له بيبي (رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو) كل الاحترام”.
واستبعد ترامب احتمال نشوب أي مشكلة أو صِدام بين تركيا وإسرائيل.
وفيما يتعلق بمسألة بيع تركيا مقاتلات “إف-35″، صرّح الرئيس الأمريكي قائلاً: “نحن ندرس هذا الأمر بجدية بالغة. أعدكم أنهم لن يستخدموها ضد إسرائيل أبداً”.
تجدر الإشارة أن تركيا إحدى الدول الشريكة في مشروع تصنيع المقاتلة المذكورة، ودفعت نحو 900 مليون دولار في إطار المشروع، إلا أن الولايات المتحدة علقت في يوليو/ تموز 2019 شراكة أنقرة بسبب تسلمها أنظمة الدفاع الصاروخي الروسية “إس 400”.
وقررت تركيا في 2017، شراء منظومة “إس 400 ” الصاروخية من روسيا، بعد تعثر جهودها المطولة في شراء أنظمة الدفاع الجوية “باتريوت” من الولايات المتحدة.
وذكر ترامب أن الرئيس أردوغان لعب دوراً هاماً في عملية التحول السياسي في سوريا.
وأضاف: “ساهم الرئيس أردوغان بشكل كبير في إزاحة زعيم سيئ للغاية في سوريا (بشار الأسد)، لا تنسوا ذلك. لم يطلب الثناء على ذلك، ولكنه يستحقه بجدارة. ونتنياهو يوافق على ذلك”.
– إسرائيل وسوريا
وأوضح الرئيس ترامب أنه ناقش مع نتنياهو خلال اجتماع فلوريدا، الاثنين، العلاقات الإسرائيلية السورية بشكلٍ مُطوّل.
وأضاف: “أحترم الرئيس السوري الجديد (أحمد الشرع)، فهو رجل قوي. وهذا ما تحتاجه سوريا الآن. آمل أن تسير الأمور على ما يرام بين إسرائيل وسوريا”.
ولفت إلى أن الشرع قام بعمل ممتاز في سوريا حتى اليوم، واتخذ خطوات مهمة في مكافحة تنظيم داعش الإرهابي.
وأكد أنه سيبذل قصارى جهده لضمان علاقة جيدة بين إسرائيل وسوريا، مضيفاً: “أنا وبيبي نتشارك فهماً مشتركاً بشأن قضية سوريا”.
وخلال الأشهر الماضية، عقدت محادثات سورية إسرائيلية بهدف التوصل إلى اتفاق أمني يكفّ اعتداءات تل أبيب على البلد العربي، لكن الاتفاق لم يبصر النور جراء إصرار إسرائيل على عدم الانسحاب من المناطق التي احتلتها بعد سقوط الأسد في 8 ديسمبر/ كانون الأول 2024.
ورغم دعوة الرئيس الامريكي دونالد ترامب إسرائيل إلى التهدئة مع سوريا، إلا أن تل أبيب واصلت انتهاكاتها ضد سيادة دمشق، عبر القصف والتوغلات التي باتت شبه يومية في الآونة الأخيرة.

U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed the existence of a strong friendship between him and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and that he holds great respect for the Turkish leader.
This came in response to a journalist’s question on Monday evening about the possibility of a conflict erupting between Turkey and Israel.
Trump said in this regard: “I know President (Recep Tayyip) Erdoğan well, he is a dear friend of mine. I have great respect for him. And Bibi (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu) has great respect for him as well.”
Trump ruled out the possibility of any problem or clash arising between Turkey and Israel.
Regarding the issue of selling Turkey F-35 fighter jets, the U.S. President stated, “We are studying this matter very seriously. I assure you they will never use them against Israel.”
It is worth noting that Turkey is one of the partner countries in the mentioned fighter jet manufacturing project and has paid about $900 million as part of the project. However, the United States suspended Ankara’s partnership in July 2019 due to its receipt of the Russian S-400 missile defense systems.
Turkey decided in 2017 to purchase the S-400 missile system from Russia, after its prolonged efforts to purchase Patriot air defense systems from the United States stalled.
Trump mentioned that President Erdoğan played an important role in the political transition process in Syria.
He added: “President Erdoğan contributed significantly to removing a very bad leader in Syria (Bashar al-Assad), don’t forget that. He doesn’t seek praise for it, but he truly deserves it. And Netanyahu agrees with that.”
– Israel and Syria
President Trump explained that he discussed Israeli-Syrian relations at length with Netanyahu during their meeting in Florida on Monday.
He added: “I respect the new Syrian President (Ahmed al-Sharaa), he is a strong man. And that’s what Syria needs now. I hope things go well between Israel and Syria.”
He pointed out that al-Sharaa has done an excellent job in Syria so far and has taken important steps in combating the terrorist organization ISIS.
He affirmed that he would do his utmost to ensure a good relationship between Israel and Syria, adding: “Bibi and I share a common understanding regarding the issue of Syria.”
In recent months, Syrian-Israeli talks have been held with the aim of reaching a security agreement that would halt Tel Aviv’s attacks on the Arab country, but the agreement did not see the light due to Israel’s insistence on not withdrawing from the areas it occupied after the fall of Assad on December 8, 2024.
Despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for Israel to exercise restraint with Syria, Tel Aviv continued its violations against Damascus’s sovereignty, through bombings and incursions that have become almost daily in recent times.
