أعلنت شركة القطارات “يوروستار” اليوم الأربعاء “حل” عطل عرقل حركة القطارات عبر نفق المانش اليوم، لكن خدمات النقل لا تزال تشهد اضطرابات قبل ساعات من رأس السنة، واضطر ركاب إلى قضاء ليلة على متن قطار بسبب حادثة أخرى.
وأفاد موقع شركة “يوروستار” الإلكتروني بأن معظم رحلات الصباح من لندن وإليها تأخرت بين 30 دقيقة وساعة و20 دقيقة، وألغيت رحلة واحدة.
وفي حين بحث ركاب عن وسائل نقل بديلة منذ أمس الثلاثاء، أعلنت شركة العبارات البريطانية “بي أند أو فيريز” اليوم أن “كل رحلاتها اليوم محجوزة”، ونصحت المسافرين بحجز رحلات ابتداء من غدٍ الخميس.
ووصلت إحدى الراكبات إلى محطة غار دو نور في باريس صباح اليوم، وروت معاناتها قائلة “كان من المفترض أن نغادر لندن الليلة الماضية وشعرنا بأننا محظوظون لأننا غادرنا بتأخير بلغ 45 دقيقة فقط. لكن في النهاية، وصلنا إلى باريس متأخرين 12 ساعة”.
وأضافت الراكبة كريستيل رينوف من سكان مدينة كاين التي سافرت مع زوجها وولديها “بعد الصعود إلى القطار، توقف أولاً لمدة ساعة بسبب نقص في عدد الموظفين، ثم توقف مرة أخرى قبل النفق مباشرة بسبب سقوط سلك كهربائي علوي على العربة رقم 4″، واصفة ليلتهم “على متن قطار، بلا كهرباء ولا ماء ولا إنترنت”.
وشهد المسافرون وعددهم كبير قبيل رأس السنة فوضى عارمة أمس على متن قطارات “يوروستار”، بسبب عطل كهربائي آخر.
وأكدت شركة السكك الحديد اليوم إلغاء 30 رحلة قطار أمس، وأعلنت “يوروستار” بعد ظهر أمس استئناف رحلاتها تدريجاً، لكنها نبهت إلى أن “خلل التغذية بالتيار الكهربائي عبر الخطوط الهوائية لا يزال قائماً”، ناصحة كل مسافريها “بإرجاء رحلاتهم”.
وحذرت “يوروستار” من أن “تأخيرات وإلغاءات قد تحدث في اللحظات الأخيرة بسبب تبعات العطل”.
وقالت شركة “غيتلينك” عبر بيان إن “المشكلة المتعلقة بالتغذية الكهربائية في نفق المانش حلّت خلال الليل، وعاد النفق مذاك لطاقته الاستيعابية الكاملة”، مضيفة أن “حركة المرور عبر نفق المانش استؤنفت خلال الليل في الاتجاهين”.
ولم يعُد موقع خدمة “لو شاتل” التي تسير قطارات لنقل سيارات بين فرنسا وبريطانيا، يظهر أية اضطرابات في الخدمة صباح اليوم.
أما الحادثة الثانية التي أجبرت ركاباً على قضاء الليل في قطار، فسببها سقوط خط كهرباء علوي على القطار المتجه من لندن إلى باريس، “قرب مدخل نفق المانش” على الجانب الإنجليزي. وأفادت الشركة بأن “قطارين آخرين شهدا تأخيرات كبيرة أيضاً، لكنهما تمكنا من مواصلة رحلتيهما إلى بروكسل”.
وعام 2024، سافر عدد قياسي من الركاب بقطارات “يوروستار” بلغ 19.5 مليون، أي أكثر بنحو 850 ألفاً من عام 2023.
وخلال الأشهر الأخيرة، أعلنت شركات عدة نيتها منافسة “يوروستار”، المجموعة الوحيدة التي تسير قطارات عبر المانش تربط لندن بأوروبا القارية.

Eurostar announced on Wednesday that it had “resolved” a fault that disrupted train traffic through the Channel Tunnel today, but transport services are still experiencing disruptions hours before New Year’s Eve, with passengers forced to spend a night on a train due to another incident.
The Eurostar website indicated that most morning journeys to and from London were delayed by between 30 minutes and 1 hour and 20 minutes, and one trip was canceled.
While passengers searched for alternative transport since Tuesday, British ferry company P&O Ferries announced today that “all its sailings for today are fully booked,” advising travelers to book trips starting tomorrow, Thursday.
One passenger arrived at Gare du Nord station in Paris this morning and recounted her ordeal, saying, “We were supposed to leave London last night and felt lucky because we left only 45 minutes late. But in the end, we arrived in Paris 12 hours late.”
The passenger, Christelle Renouf from Caen, who traveled with her husband and two sons, added, “After boarding the train, it first stopped for an hour due to a staff shortage, then stopped again just before the tunnel because a power line fell on car number 4,” describing their night “on a train, without electricity, water, or internet.”
A large number of travelers witnessed utter chaos yesterday on Eurostar trains ahead of New Year’s Eve due to another electrical fault.
The railway company confirmed today the cancellation of 30 train trips yesterday, and Eurostar announced yesterday afternoon the gradual resumption of its services, but warned that “the fault with power supply via the overhead lines persists,” advising all its passengers to “postpone their journeys.”
Eurostar warned that “last-minute delays and cancellations may occur due to the aftermath of the fault.”
The Getlink company stated in a press release that “the issue related to power supply in the Channel Tunnel was resolved overnight, and the tunnel has since returned to full capacity,” adding that “traffic through the Channel Tunnel resumed overnight in both directions.”
The website of the “Le Shuttle” service, which operates trains for transporting cars between France and Britain, no longer showed any service disruptions this morning.
As for the second incident that forced passengers to spend the night on a train, it was caused by an overhead power line falling onto the train traveling from London to Paris, “near the entrance to the Channel Tunnel” on the English side. The company reported that “two other trains also experienced significant delays, but they were able to continue their journeys to Brussels.”
In 2024, a record number of passengers traveled on Eurostar trains, reaching 19.5 million, which is about 850,000 more than in 2023.
In recent months, several companies have announced their intention to compete with Eurostar, the only group operating trains through the Channel that connect London with continental Europe.
