انتقد الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب الأربعاء منح باريس الممثل الأميركي جورج كلوني، وزوجته المحامية اللبنانية البريطانية أمل علم الدين، وطفليهما، الجنسية الفرنسية.
وقال ترمب الذي تدعم إدارته أحزاباً مناهضة للهجرة في أوروبا، إن فرنسا تعاني مشكلة “مروعة” في ما يتعلق بالجريمة والهجرة.
وحصل كلوني وزوجته وتوأماهما البالغان ثماني سنوات على الجنسية الفرنسية بموجب مرسوم نشر السبت في الجريدة الرسمية، واطلعت عليه وكالة “الصحافة الفرنسية”.
وقال ترمب على شبكته “تروث سوشال”، “خبر سار! جورج وأمل كلوني، وهما من أسوأ المتنبئين السياسيين على مر العصور، أصبحا رسمياً مواطنين فرنسيين، وهي دولة تعاني للأسف مشكلة جريمة كبيرة بسبب تعاملها المروع مع ملف الهجرة”.
وفي أحد منشوراته ليلة رأس السنة، أضاف ترمب أن تلك المشكلات في فرنسا “تشبه إلى حد كبير ما كان لدينا في عهد جو بايدن النعسان”، سلفه الديموقراطي.
ويعد كلوني من أبرز داعمي الحزب الديموقراطي كما أنه من أشد منتقدي ترمب.
وأشار ترمب إلى حقيقة أن الممثل دعم بايدن خلال الانتخابات الرئاسية الأميركية لعام 2024، لكنه “تخلى” عنه بعد ذلك بسبب قلقه بشأن سن المرشح الديمقراطي خلال فعالية لجمع التبرعات.
وأضاف “حصل كلوني على دعاية أكبر في السياسة مما حصل عليه في أفلامه القليلة والمتواضعة، لم يكن نجماً سينمائياً، بل كان مجرد رجل عادي يشتكي باستمرار من المنطق السليم في السياسة”.
واعتبرت الوزيرة المفوضة لشؤون الداخلية في فرنسا أن منح الجنسية للممثل الأميركي جورج كلوني وعائلته لا يوجه “رسالة جيدة”، فيما تنوي السلطات تشديد امتحانات اللغة لأغراض التجنيس.
وقالت ماري-بيار فيدرين عبر أثير الإذاعة العامة فرانس انفو “أنا شخصياً فخورة جداً بأن جورج كلوني طلب جنسية” بلدي، لكنها “ليست رسالة جيدة توجه”، نظراً إلى “الضرورة القصوى” لمراعاة “مسألة الإنصاف”.
وأقرت الوزيرة بأنها تتفهم “شخصياً” شعور بعض الفرنسيين بـ”تطبيق سياسة الكيل بمكيالين”، بعدما أقر الممثل البالغ 64 سنة في مطلع ديسمبر (كانون الأول) عبر أثير “أر تي أل” بأنه ما زال “سيئاً” في اللغة الفرنسية بعد “400 يوم من الدروس”.
واعتباراً من الأول من يناير (كانون الثاني)، ينبغي للأجانب الراغبين في الاستقرار في فرنسا أن يكونوا قد اجتازوا امتحاناً مدنياً، وأثبتوا أنهم يتقنون الفرنسية بمستوى معين، وذلك بموجب قانون يعود لعام 2024.

Trump, whose administration supports anti-immigration parties in Europe, said France has a “horrible” problem with crime and immigration.
Clooney, his wife, and their eight-year-old twins received French citizenship under a decree published Saturday in the Official Journal, seen by AFP.
On his Truth Social network, Trump said, “Good news! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, are now officially French citizens, a country that unfortunately has a big crime problem due to its horrible handling of the immigration file.”
In one of his New Year’s Eve posts, Trump added that those problems in France “are very similar to what we had under sleepy Joe Biden,” his Democratic predecessor.
Clooney is a prominent supporter of the Democratic Party and one of Trump’s fiercest critics.
Trump pointed to the fact that the actor supported Biden during the 2024 US presidential election but later “abandoned” him over concerns about the Democratic candidate’s age during a fundraiser.
He added, “Clooney has gotten more publicity in politics than he ever got in his few and unimpressive movies. He was not a movie star, just a common man constantly complaining about common sense in politics.”
The French Minister Delegate for the Interior considered that granting citizenship to American actor George Clooney and his family does not send a “good message,” while authorities plan to tighten language exams for naturalization purposes.
Marie-Pierre Vedrenne said on public radio France Info, “I personally am very proud that George Clooney requested citizenship of my country,” but it is “not a good message to send,” given the “absolute necessity” of considering the “issue of fairness.”
The minister acknowledged that she personally understands the feeling among some French people of “applying double standards,” after the 64-year-old actor admitted on RTL radio in early December that he was still “bad” at French after “400 days of lessons.”
As of January 1st, foreigners wishing to settle in France must have passed a civic exam and proven they master French at a certain level, under a 2024 law.
