أكدت رئيسة المكسيك كلوديا شينباوم رفض بلادها القاطع للتدخل العسكري الأمريكي في فنزويلا، مشددة على أن التدخل في شؤون الدول الأخرى لم يجلب أبداً الديمقراطية أو الرفاه أو الاستقرار الدائم في أمريكا اللاتينية.
وأوضحت شينباوم في تصريح للصحفيين، الاثنين، أن المكسيك ترفض التدخلات الأجنبية في شؤون البلدان.
وأضافت: “في ضوء الأحداث الأخيرة التي شهدتها فنزويلا والتي أسفرت عن اعتقال الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو وزوجته، إلى جانب خسائر في الأرواح، تؤكد المكسيك مجدداً مبدأً أساسياً وهو الرفض القاطع لأي تدخل في الشؤون الداخلية للدول الأخرى”.
وأردفت قائلةً: “تاريخ أمريكا اللاتينية واضح لا لبس فيه. لم يُفضِ التدخل قط إلى الديمقراطية ولا إلى الازدهار أو الاستقرار الدائم”.
وأشارت إلى أن الشعوب وحدها هي من تملك الحق في تقرير مصيرها، وأن حق اختيار الموارد الطبيعية ونظام الحكم هو حق أصيل لشعب أي بلد.
وفيما يتعلق بتصريح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب الذي قال إن “المكسيك تُدار من قِبل عصابات المخدرات”، أكدت شينباوم أن الحكومة في المكسيك بيد الشعب، وأن البلاد مستقلة وذات سيادة.
وأفادت بأن المكسيك منفتحة على التعاون مع الولايات المتحدة، وليس على الخضوع أو التدخل.
والسبت الفائت، أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب شن عملية واسعة النطاق ضد فنزويلا، أسفرت عن اعتقال رئيسها مادورو، وزوجته، واقتيادهما إلى الولايات المتحدة.
وصرح ترامب، أن الولايات المتحدة ستواصل “إدارة الأمور في فنزويلا حتى تحقيق انتقال آمن ومناسب ومعقول للسلطة” هناك.
ونشرت وزارة العدل الأمريكية وثيقة اتهامات ضد مادورو منها “قيادة حكومة فاسدة وغير شرعية لسنوات”، و”التعاون مع أخطر تجار وإرهابيي المخدرات في العالم”.
بدورها نائبة الرئيس الفنزويلي ديلسي رودريغيز دعت الحكومة الأمريكية إلى التعاون، عقب تعيينها رئيسة مؤقتة إثر اعتقال الولايات المتحدة الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum firmly stated Mexico’s absolute rejection of U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, emphasizing that interference in other countries’ affairs has never brought democracy, prosperity, or lasting stability to Latin America.
In a statement to journalists on Monday, Sheinbaum clarified that Mexico rejects foreign intervention in the affairs of nations.
She added: “In light of recent events in Venezuela, which resulted in the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, along with loss of lives, Mexico reaffirms a fundamental principle: the absolute rejection of any interference in the internal affairs of other countries.”
She continued, saying: “The history of Latin America is clear and unambiguous. Intervention has never led to democracy, nor to prosperity or lasting stability.”
She pointed out that only peoples themselves have the right to determine their destiny, and that the right to choose natural resources and governance systems is an inherent right of any country’s people.
Regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that “Mexico is run by drug cartels,” Sheinbaum affirmed that the government in Mexico is in the hands of the people, and that the country is independent and sovereign.
She stated that Mexico is open to cooperation with the United States, not to submission or intervention.
Last Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the launch of a large-scale operation against Venezuela, resulting in the arrest of its President Maduro and his wife, and their transfer to the United States.
Trump stated that the United States will continue to “manage affairs in Venezuela until a safe, appropriate, and reasonable transfer of power is achieved” there.
The U.S. Department of Justice published a document of charges against Maduro, including “leading a corrupt and illegitimate government for years” and “cooperating with the world’s most dangerous drug traffickers and terrorists.”
For her part, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez called on the U.S. government to cooperate, following her appointment as interim president after the United States arrested President Nicolas Maduro.
