صنفت الولايات المتحدة اليوم الثلاثاء، جماعة الإخوان المسلمين في كل من مصر والأردن ولبنان منظمة إرهابية، تلبية لمطالبة حلفائها العرب والمحافظين الأميركيين.
وقال وزير الخارجية الأميركي ماركو روبيو في بيان إن هذا التصنيف يعكس الإجراءات الأولى لجهود مستمرة بهدف التصدي لأعمال العنف وعدم الاستقرار التي تقوم بها فروع جماعة ’الإخوان المسلمين‘ أينما وقعت.
وأضاف روبيو أن الإدارة الأميركية ستستخدم جميع الأدوات المتاحة لديها من أجل حرمان هذه الفروع من موارد الدخول في الإرهاب، على حد قوله.
وكشفت وزارتا الخزانة والخارجية اليوم عن هذه الإجراءات ضد فروع جماعة الإخوان المسلمين في لبنان والأردن ومصر التي قالتا إنها تشكل خطراً على الولايات المتحدة ومصالحها.
وصنفت وزارة الخارجية الفرع اللبناني منظمة إرهابية أجنبية، وهو أشد التصنيفات، مما يجعل تقديم الدعم المادي للجماعة جريمة جنائية. أما الفرعان الأردني والمصري فقد أدرجتهما وزارة الخزانة ضمن قائمة المنظمات الإرهابية العالمية المصنفة خصيصاً لدعمهما حركة حماس.
وكان روبيو ووزير الخزانة سكوت بيسنت، كُلفا العام الماضي، بموجب أمر تنفيذي وقعه الرئيس دونالد ترمب، تحديد السبل الأنسب لفرض العقوبات على هذه الجماعة التي يقول مسؤولون أميركيون إنها تنتظم في العنف أو تدعمه، وفي حملات زعزعة استقرار تضر بالولايات المتحدة ومناطق أخرى.
وكان الأمر التنفيذي لترمب سمى فروع لبنان والأردن ومصر، مشيراً إلى أن جناحاً من الفرع اللبناني أطلق صواريخ على إسرائيل بعد هجوم حماس في السابع من أكتوبر (تشرين الأول) عام 2023 على إسرائيل الذي أشعل الحرب في غزة. وأفاد الأمر بأن قادة الجماعة في الأردن قدموا دعماً لـحماس.
ونص الأمر التنفيذي حينها على إطلاق عملية يعد بموجبها بعض من فروع جماعة ’الإخوان المسلمين‘ أو أقسامها منظمات إرهابية أجنبية، مع الإشارة خصوصاً إلى فروعها في لبنان ومصر والأردن.
وأشار الأمر التنفيذي إلى أن تلك الفروع ترتكب أو تسهل أو تدعم العنف وحملات زعزعة الاستقرار التي تضر بمناطقها، ومواطني ومصالح الولايات المتحدة.
والجماعة محظورة في بلدان عدة بينها السعودية وأخيراً الأردن، وكذلك مصر حيث تشكلت الحركة، وفي أبريل (نيسان) الماضي، أعلنت عمان حظر كل نشاطات الإخوان المسلمين في البلاد، وإغلاق مقارها ومصادرة ممتلكاتها، متهمة الجماعة باقتناء سلاح ومحاولة تصنيع متفجرات وصواريخ والتخطيط لزعزعة أمن الدولة.
ترحيب مصري
من جانبها رحّبت وزارة الخارجية المصرية الثلاثاء بتصنيف الولايات المتحدة فرع جماعة الإخوان المسلمين في مصر كياناً إرهابياً عالمياً. وقالت الوزارة في بيان ترحب جمهورية مصر العربية بإعلان الولايات المتحدة عن إدراج تنظيم الإخوان المسلمين في مصر ككيان إرهابي عالمي مصنف بشكل خاص… وتعتبره خطوة فارقة تعكس خطورة هذه الجماعة وأيديولوجيتها المتطرفة، وما تمثله من تهديد مباشر للأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي والدولي. وأضافت وتؤكد مصر أن هذا التصنيف الأمريكي الأخير يعكس صواب ووجاهة الموقف المصري الحازم من جماعة الإخوان الإرهابية الذي تبنته الدولة عقب ثورة 30 يونيو (حزيران) عام 2013، دفاعا عن إرادة الشعب المصري وصونا لمؤسسات الدولة الوطنية، إذ سعى التنظيم الإرهابي إلى اختطاف الدولة وتوظيف العنف والإرهاب لفرض أجندته الهدامة.

On Tuesday, the United States designated the Muslim Brotherhood branches in Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon as terrorist organizations, responding to demands from its Arab allies and American conservatives.
In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “This designation reflects the initial steps of ongoing efforts to counter the acts of violence and instability carried out by branches of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ wherever they exist.”
Rubio added that the US administration would use all available tools to deprive these branches of resources for engaging in terrorism, according to his statement.
The US Departments of the Treasury and State unveiled these measures today against the Muslim Brotherhood branches in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, which they said pose a threat to the United States and its interests.
The State Department designated the Lebanese branch as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, the most severe designation, making material support to the group a criminal offense. The Treasury Department listed the Jordanian and Egyptian branches on the Specifically Designated Global Terrorist list for their support of the Hamas movement.
Last year, Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bissinet were tasked, under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, with identifying the most appropriate ways to impose sanctions on this group, which US officials say engages in or supports violence and destabilization campaigns that harm the United States and other regions.
Trump’s executive order named the branches in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, noting that a wing of the Lebanese branch launched rockets at Israel following Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which ignited the war in Gaza. The order stated that leaders of the group in Jordan had provided support to Hamas.
The executive order at the time called for “initiating a process whereby certain branches or sections of the Muslim Brotherhood are designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations,” specifically pointing to its branches in Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan.
The executive order indicated that those branches “commit, facilitate, or support violence and destabilization campaigns that harm their regions and the citizens and interests of the United States.”
The group is banned in several countries, including Saudi Arabia and recently Jordan, as well as Egypt, where the movement originated. In April of this year, Amman announced a ban on all Muslim Brotherhood activities in the country, the closure of its offices, and the seizure of its assets, accusing the group of acquiring weapons and attempting to manufacture explosives and rockets, and of planning to undermine state security.
Egyptian Welcome
On its part, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed on Tuesday the United States’ designation of the Muslim Brotherhood branch in Egypt as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity.” The ministry said in a statement, “The Arab Republic of Egypt welcomes the United States’ announcement of listing the Muslim Brotherhood organization in Egypt as a Specifically Designated Global Terrorist entity… and considers it a pivotal step that reflects the danger of this group and its extremist ideology, and the direct threat it poses to regional and international security and stability.” It added, “Egypt affirms that this latest American designation reflects the correctness and validity of Egypt’s firm stance towards the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group, a stance adopted by the state following the June 30, 2013 revolution, in defense of the will of the Egyptian people and safeguarding national state institutions, as the terrorist organization sought to hijack the state and employ violence and terrorism to impose its destructive agenda.”
