الاستقالة لأولى بإدارة ترامب..رئيس مركز مكافحة الإرهاب يستقيل لرفضه حرب إيران

أعلن رئيس المركز الوطني لمكافحة الإرهاب بالولايات المتحدة جو كينت استقالته، الثلاثاء، لرفضه الحرب المتواصلة على إيران.
وتعد هذه أول استقالة لمسؤول رفيع المستوى في إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترامب منذ بدء الحرب الأمريكية الإسرائيلية على إيران في 28 فبراير/ شباط الماضي.
وفي تدوينة عبر منصة شركة “إكس” الأمريكية، قال كينت: “بعد تفكير عميق، قررت الاستقالة من منصبي كمدير للمركز الوطني لمكافحة الإرهاب، اعتبارا من اليوم”.
وتابع: “لا يمكنني بضمير مرتاح أن أؤيد الحرب الدائرة في إيران. لم تشكل إيران أي تهديد مباشر لأمتنا، ومن الواضح أننا بدأنا هذه الحرب بسبب ضغوط من إسرائيل وجماعات الضغط الأمريكية القوية التابعة لها”.
وموجها حديثه إلى ترامب، قال كينت في خطاب الاستقالة المرفق: “أؤيد القيم والسياسات الخارجية التي روجت لها في حملاتك الانتخابية أعوام 2016 و2020 و2024، والتي طبقتها خلال ولايتك الأولى حتى يونيو (حزيران) 2025”.
وأضاف: “كنت تُدرك أن حروب الشرق الأوسط فخٌّ يسلب أمريكا أرواح أبطالها الأعزاء، ويستنزف ثروات أمتنا وازدهارها”.
وأردف: “في ولايتك الأولى (2017-2021)، كنت أكثر فهما من أي رئيس معاصر لكيفية استخدام القوة العسكرية بحزم دون جرّنا إلى حروب لا تنتهي. وبرهنت على ذلك بقتل (قائد فيلق القدس الإيراني) قاسم سليماني (عام 2020) وهزيمة داعش”.
كينت استدرك: لكن “في بداية هذه الإدارة (يناير/ كانون الثاني 2025)، شنّ مسؤولون إسرائيليون رفيعو المستوى وشخصيات مؤثرة في الإعلام الأمريكي حملة تضليلية قوّضت تماما شعار “أمريكا أولًا” وبثّت مشاعر مؤيدة للحرب لتشجيعها على شنّ حرب مع إيران”.
وتابع: “استُخدمت هذه الدائرة المفرغة لخداعكم وإيهامكم بأن إيران تُشكّل تهديدا وشيكا للولايات المتحدة، وأنه في حال شنّ هجوم الآن، سيكون هناك طريق واضح لتحقيق نصر سريع”.
وشدد على أن “هذا كان كذبا، وهو نفس التكتيك الذي استخدمه الإسرائيليون لجرّنا إلى حرب العراق الكارثية (عام 2003)، التي كلّفت أمتنا أرواح آلاف من أفضل رجالنا ونسائنا. لا يمكننا تكرار هذا الخطأ”.
واستطرد: “بصفتي جنديا مخضرما شاركت في القتال 11 مرة (…) لا يمكنني تأييد إرسال الجيل القادم للقتال والموت في حرب لا تعود بأي فائدة على الشعب الأمريكي ولا تبرر التضحية بأرواح الأمريكيين”.
وختم كينت بدعوة ترامب إلى إعادة النظر في سياسته تجاه إيران، مضيفا: “بإمكانكم تغيير المسار ورسم طريق جديد لأمتنا أو بإمكانكم السماح لنا بالانزلاق أكثر نحو التدهور والفوضى”.
وحتى الساعة 14:55 “ت.غ”لم يعقب البيت الأبيض على استقالة كينت، الذي تولى منصبه في يوليو/ تموز الماضي، وكان مسؤولا عن وكالة مُكلّفة بتحليل التهديدات الإرهابية والكشف عنها.
وقبل انضمامه إلى إدارة ترامب، خدم كينت في الجيش، حيث شارك في 11 مهمة كجندي في القوات الخاصة، ثم عمل في وكالة المخابرات المركزية.
وقدّم ترامب أسبابا متضاربة للحرب، بينها الادعاء باقتراب إيران من إنتاج أسلحة نووية، ورفض اتهامات بأن إسرائيل أجبرت الولايات المتحدة على التحرك.
وأسفر العدوان الأمريكي الإسرائيلي على إيران عن مقتل ما لا يقل عن 1332 شخصا، بينهم 202 طفل و223 سيدة والمرشد الأعلى علي خامنئي، إضافة إلى أكثر من 15 ألف جريح ودمار واسع.
وترد طهران بإطلاق صواريخ ومسيَّرات باتجاه إسرائيل، ما أدى لمقتل ما لا يقل عن 14 شخصا وإصابة 3369، بالإضافة إلى هجمات أخرى قتلت وأصابت عسكريين أمريكيين.
كما تشن هجمات على تقول إنها قواعد ومصالح أمريكية بدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي الست والعراق والأردن، لكن بعضها أسقط قتلى وجرحى وأضر بأعيان مدنية، وهو ما أدانته الدول العربية المستهدفة، مطالبة بوقف الاعتداءات.
وتتعرض إيران للعدوان رغم إحرازها تقدما بالمفاوضات مع الولايات المتحدة بشأن البرنامج النووي بشهادة الوسيط العماني، وهذه هي المرة الثانية التي تنقلب فيها إسرائيل على طاولة التفاوض، وفي الأولى بدأت حرب يونيو/ حزيران 2025.
وتتهم واشنطن وتل أبيب طهران بامتلاك برنامجي نووي وصاروخي يهددان إسرائيل ودولا إقليمية صديقة للولايات المتحدة، بينما تقول إيران إن برنامجها النووي سلمي ولا تسعى إلى إنتاج أسلحة نووية.
وإسرائيل هي الدولة الوحيدة بالمنطقة التي تمتلك ترسانة أسلحة نووية، وهي غير معلنة رسميا ولا تخضع لرقابة دولية، كما تحتل فلسطين وأراضي في سوريا ولبنان، وترفض الانسحاب منها وقيام دولة فلسطينية مستقلة.

The head of the National Counterterrorism Center in the United States, Joe Kent, announced his resignation, on Tuesday, because he rejected the ongoing war on Iran.
This is the first resignation of a high-ranking official in the administration of President Donald Trump since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran on February 28.
In a blog post on the American company “X” platform, Kent said: “After deep thought, I have decided to resign from my position as director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.”
He continued: “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran does not pose any direct threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war because of pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby groups.”
Addressing Trump, Kent said in the attached resignation letter: “I support the values and foreign policies that you promoted in your election campaigns in 2016, 2020, and 2024, and which you implemented during your first term until June 2025.”
He added: “You were aware that the Middle East wars are a trap that robs America of the lives of its dear heroes, and drains our nation’s wealth and prosperity.”
He added: “In your first term (2017-2021), you were more understanding than any contemporary president.”How to use military force decisively without dragging us into endless wars. This was demonstrated by the killing of (Iranian Quds Force commander) Qassem Soleimani (in 2020) and the defeat of ISIS.”
Kent added, “But at the beginning of this administration (January 2025), high-ranking Israeli officials and influential figures in the American media launched a disinformation campaign that completely undermined the ‘America First’ slogan and spread pro-war sentiment to encourage it to wage war with Iran.”
He continued: “This vicious circle was used to deceive you and make you believe that Iran poses an imminent threat to the United States, and that if an attack was launched now, there would be a clear path to quick victory.”
He stressed, “This was a lie, and it is the same tactic that the Israelis used to drag us into the disastrous Iraq War (in 2003), which cost our nation the lives of thousands of our best men and women. “We cannot repeat this mistake.”
He continued: “As a veteran soldier who participated in combat 11 times (…) I cannot support sending the next generation to fight and die in a war that does not bring any benefit to the American people and does not justify the sacrifice of American lives.”
Kent concluded by calling on Trump to reconsider his policy towards IranHe added: “You can change course and chart a new path for our nation, or you can allow us to slide further into deterioration and chaos.”
As of 14:55 GMT, the White House had not commented on the resignation of Kent, who took office last July and was responsible for an agency charged with analyzing and detecting terrorist threats.
Before joining the Trump administration, Kent served in the Army, where he participated in 11 missions as a Special Forces soldier, and then worked for the CIA.
Trump presented conflicting reasons for the war, including claiming that Iran was close to producing nuclear weapons, and rejecting accusations that Israel forced the United States to act.
The American-Israeli aggression against Iran resulted in the deaths of at least 1,332 people, including 202 children, 223 women, and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in addition to more than 15,000 wounded and widespread destruction.
Tehran responded by launching missiles and drones towards Israel, killing at least 14 people and wounding 3,369, in addition to other attacks that killed and wounded American soldiers.
It also launches attacks on what it says are American bases and interests in the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Iraq and Jordan, but some of them have resulted in deaths.And wounded and damaged civilian objects, which was condemned by the targeted Arab countries, demanding an end to the attacks.
Iran is being exposed to aggression despite making progress in negotiations with the United States regarding the nuclear program, with the testimony of the Omani mediator. This is the second time that Israel has turned at the negotiating table, and in the first the June 2025 war began.
Washington and Tel Aviv accuse Tehran of possessing nuclear and missile programs that threaten Israel and regional countries friendly to the United States, while Iran says that its nuclear program is peaceful and does not seek to produce nuclear weapons.
Israel is the only country in the region that possesses a nuclear weapons arsenal. It is not officially declared and is not subject to international oversight. It also occupies Palestine and lands in Syria and Lebanon, and refuses to withdraw from them and establish an independent Palestinian state.
