دعت الجامعة العربية، الأحد، مجلس الأمن الدولي إلى اتخاذ موقف حازم إزاء الاعتراف الإسرائيلي غير القانوني بما يسمى “إقليم أرض الصومال”، باعتباره “إجراء تهديديا للسلم والأمن الدوليين”.
جاء ذلك في بيان ختامي لمجلس الجامعة العربية على مستوى المندوبين الدائمين، عقب اجتماع طارئ عقده الأحد بالقاهرة، بدعوة من الصومال وبتأييد عدد من دول الأعضاء بالجامعة العربية، عقب الاعتراف الإسرائيلي “الباطل”، بحسب بيان للمجلس.
ووفق البيان، عقد الاجتماع برئاسة المندوب الدائم للإمارات السفير حمد الزعابي، والأمين العام المساعد للجامعة السفير حسام زكي، وبمشاركة السفراء المندوبين الدائمين للدول الأعضاء.
وأدان مجلس جامعة الدول العربية، في بيانه، بـ”أشد العبارات اعتراف إسرائيل بانفصال إقليم الشمال الغربي بالصومال، ما يسمى إقليم أرض الصومال، طمعًا في تحقيق أجندات سياسية وأمنية واقتصادية مرفوضة رفضًا قاطعًا”.
وأكد المجلس “رفضه الكامل لأية إجراءات تترتب على هذا الاعتراف الباطل بهدف تسهيل مخططات التهجير القسري للشعب الفلسطيني أو استباحة موانئ شمال الصومال لإنشاء قواعد عسكرية فيها”.
وطلب المجلس، من الأمين العام للجامعة العربية (أحمد أبو الغيط) مخاطبة رئاسة مجلس الأمن الدولي، والأمين العام للأمم المتحدة ورئيس مفوضية الاتحاد الإفريقي، ودعوتهم لاتخاذ موقف حازم إزاء الاعتراف الإسرائيلي بإقليم أرض الصومال، باعتباره “إجراء تهديديًا للسلم والأمن الدوليين”.

The Arab League called on the United Nations Security Council on Sunday to take a firm stance against Israel’s illegal recognition of the so-called “Somaliland region,” describing it as an act “threatening international peace and security.”
This came in a final statement from the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives, following an emergency meeting held Sunday in Cairo at the invitation of Somalia and with the support of a number of Arab League member states, in response to what the Council’s statement termed Israel’s “null and void” recognition.
According to the statement, the meeting was chaired by the Permanent Representative of the UAE, Ambassador Hamad Al Zaabi, and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, with the participation of the permanent representative ambassadors of the member states.
In its statement, the Council of the League of Arab States “strongly condemned Israel’s recognition of the secession of the northwestern region of Somalia, the so-called Somaliland region, in pursuit of unacceptable political, security, and economic agendas, a pursuit that is categorically rejected.”
The Council affirmed its “complete rejection of any measures resulting from this void recognition aimed at facilitating schemes for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people or violating the ports of northern Somalia to establish military bases there.”
The Council requested the Secretary-General of the Arab League (Ahmed Aboul Gheit) to address the presidency of the UN Security Council, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, urging them to take a firm stance against Israel’s recognition of the Somaliland region as an “act threatening international peace and security.”
