ادعت وسائل إعلام، إقالة جنرالين آخرين كبيرين في الجيش الأمريكي، وذلك عقب إعلان المتحدث باسم وزارة الدفاع (البنتاغون) عن تقاعد “رئيس أركان الجيش” الجنرال راندي جورج.
وبحسب صحيفة “واشنطن بوست” الأمريكية، الجمعة، ادعى مسؤولون في وزارة الدفاع، لم يتم الكشف عن أسمائهم، أنه بالإضافة إلى جورج، أقيل جنرالان آخران.
وأوضح المسؤولون أن الجنرالين هما الجنرال ديفيد هودن الذي تولى قيادة التدريب والتحول في الجيش في أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول الماضي، واللواء ويليام غرين جونيور قائد الدعم المعنوي بالجيش.
في سياق متصل، نقلت مجلة “ذا أتلانتيك” عن مسؤولين في البيت الأبيض أن هناك تقييمات جارية بشأن مغادرة وزير الجيش الأمريكي دان دريسكول منصبه قريبا.
وذكرت الصحافة الأمريكية أن خلافات نشبت بين وزير الدفاع هيغسيث ودريسكول حول عدة قضايا، أبرزها ترقية أربعة ضباط إلى رتبة عميد.
وفي وقت سابق الجمعة، أعلن المتحدث باسم وزارة الحرب الأميركية (البنتاغون)، شون بارنيل، أن “رئيس أركان الجيش” الجنرال راندي جورج، سيتقاعد من منصبه فورا.
وقال بارنيل، في تغريدة عبر منصة شبكة “إكس” الأمريكية، أن “جورج سيحال إلى التقاعد من منصبه وذلك اعتبارًا من الآن”.
وأضاف: “تُعرب الوزارة عن امتنانها للجنرال جورج على عقود من الخدمة لبلادنا”.
ووفق التسمية الأمريكية، يُقابل رئيس أركان الجيش وظيفة رئيس أركان القوات البرية في كثير من دول العالم، وهو تابع لرئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة (المنصب الأعلى عسكريا بأمريكا)، التي تشمل جميع الأفرع العسكرية الأخرى، بما في ذلك البحرية والجوية وغيرها.
ومنذ 28 فبراير/ شباط الماضي، تشن إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة هجمات على إيران أسفرت عن آلاف القتلى والجرحى، فيما ترد طهران بإطلاق صواريخ ومسيَّرات باتجاه إسرائيل، وما تقول إنها قواعد ومصالح أمريكية في دول عربية.

Media claimed the dismissal of two other senior generals in the US Army, following the announcement by the Pentagon spokesman of the retirement of “Chief of Staff of the Army,” General Randy George.
According to the American newspaper “The Washington Post”, on Friday, officials in the Ministry of Defense, whose names were not revealed, claimed that in addition to George, two other generals were dismissed.

The American press reported that disagreements arose between Defense Minister Hegseth and Driscoll over several issues, most notably the promotion of four officers to the rank of brigadier general.
Earlier Friday, US Defense Department (Pentagon) spokesman Sean Parnell announced that Army Chief of Staff, General Randy George, would retire from his position immediately.
Parnell said, in a tweet on the American “X” network platform, that “George will be retired from his positionE, as of now.”
“The Department expresses its gratitude to General George for his decades of service to our country,” he added.
According to the American name, the Chief of Staff of the Army corresponds to the position of Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces in many countries of the world, and he is subordinate to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (the highest military position in America), which includes all other military branches, including the Navy, Air Force, and others.
