قالت رئيسة الوزراء الإيطالية جورجيا ميلوني اليوم الخميس إن قاعدة عسكرية إيطالية في إقليم كردستان العراق تعرضت لهجوم خلال الليل لم يسفر عن إصابات، في واقعة يبدو أنها مرتبطة بحرب إيران.
وذكر مسؤولون إيطاليون أنهم لا يعلمون الجهة المسؤولة عن الهجوم على القاعدة في أربيل، والذي جاء وسط تصاعد التوتر في المنطقة بسبب الحرب التي شنتها الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل على إيران قبل نحو أسبوعين.
وقالت ميلوني على “إكس”، “أعبر عن تضامني وتعاطفي مع جنودنا الذين لم يصابوا بأذى في الهجوم. تفخر إيطاليا بشجاعتهم وكفاءتهم المهنية التي يظهرونها في العمل يومياً من أجل السلام والأمن في مناطق الأزمات العديدة حول العالم”.
ويشير موقع وزارة الدفاع إلى أن إيطاليا لديها نحو 300 جندي في أربيل يعملون على تدريب قوات الأمن الكردية. لكن الأعداد جرى تخفيضها أخيراً بسبب الأخطار المتزايدة الناتجة من الحرب الأميركية- الإسرائيلية على إيران. وأشارت الوزارة في البداية إلى أن معسكر سينجارا الإيطالي في أربيل تعرض لهجوم صاروخي، إلا أن مصادر في الوزارة قالت لاحقاً إن طائرة مسيرة هي التي دمرت مركبة عسكرية تستخدم في الخدمات اللوجيستية.
وأضافت مصادر الوزارة أن من المحتمل أن الطائرة المسيرة لم تستهدف القاعدة الإيطالية عمداً، بل أصابتها عن طريق الخطأ بعد أن فقدت القدرة على الحفاظ على ارتفاعها.
وقال الكولونيل ستيفانو بيتزوتي قائد القاعدة لقناة “سكاي تي جي 24″، إن الجنود تلقوا تحذيرات من تهديدات جوية محتملة واحتموا في الملاجئ قبل ساعات من الواقعة.
وأضاف “نحن مستعدون ومدربون على التعامل مع مثل هذه المواقف، وسلامة أفرادنا هي أولويتنا القصوى دائماً”، مشيراً إلى أن حالة التأهب للغارات الجوية انتهت، لكن خبراء يواصلون فحص المنطقة وتأمينها.
وتابع قائلاً “لم نتمكن من تقييم الأضرار التي لحقت بالبنية التحتية في المكان بعد وتحديد حجم ما حدث على أساسه”.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Thursday that an Italian military base in the Kurdistan region of Iraq was attacked overnight, resulting in no casualties, in an incident that appears to be linked to the Iran war.
Italian officials stated that they did not know who was responsible for the attack on the base in Erbil, which came amid escalating tension in the region due to the war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran about two weeks ago.
Meloni said on “X”, “I express my solidarity and sympathy with our soldiers who were not harmed in the attack. Italy is proud of their courage and professionalism that they demonstrate in working daily for peace and security in the many crisis areas around the world.”
The Ministry of Defense website indicates that Italy has about 300 soldiers in Erbil working to train Kurdish security forces. But the numbers have recently been reduced due to the increasing dangers resulting from the American-Israeli war on Iran. The Ministry initially indicated that the Italian Singara camp in Erbil was subjected to a missile attack, but sources in the Ministry later said that it was a drone that destroyed a military vehicle used in the camp.Logistics died.
Ministry sources added that it is possible that the drone did not intentionally target the Italian base, but rather hit it accidentally after it lost the ability to maintain its altitude.
