أميركا بالتنسيق مع أبوجا تشن ضربات ضد “داعش” في نيجيريا

قالت وزارة الخارجية النيجيرية اليوم الجمعة إن الولايات المتحدة شنت ضربات جوية دقيقة وأصابت “أهدافاً إرهابية” في شمال غرب البلاد، وأضافت أنها تظل منخرطة مع واشنطن في “تعاون أمني منظم”.
وأعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب أمس الخميس أن القوات الأميركية نفذت ضربات عدة قوية ودامية ضد “حثالة إرهابيي تنظيم داعش” في شمال غرب نيجيريا، متوعداً بشن مزيد من الضربات إذا استمر المسلحون في قتل المسيحيين.
وقال ترمب في منشور على منصته الاجتماعية “تروث سوشال”، “سبق وحذرت هؤلاء الإرهابيين من أنهم إذا لم يتوقفوا عن ذبح المسيحيين، سيترتب عليهم دفع ثمن باهظ، والليلة حدث ذلك”، مضيفاً أن “وزارة الحرب نفذت ضربات عدة متقنة”.
وقالت القيادة العسكرية الأميركية في أفريقيا على “إكس” إن الضربة نُفذت على ولاية سوبوتو بناء على طلب السلطات النيجيرية وأسفرت عن مقتل عدد من عناصر تنظيم “داعش”.
وكانت بيانات تتبع الرحلات الجوية وإفادات من مسؤولين أميركيين حاليين وسابقين أظهرت أن الولايات المتحدة تنفذ رحلات جوية بهدف جمع معلومات استخباراتية فوق أجزاء كبيرة من نيجيريا منذ أواخر نوفمبر (تشرين الثاني) الماضي في إشارة إلى زيادة التعاون الأمني بين البلدين.
ولم يتسن لـ”رويترز” حينها تحديد المعلومات التي تهدف هذه الرحلات الجوية إلى جمعها، لكنها أتت في أعقاب تهديدات الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب في نوفمبر الماضي بالتدخل العسكري في نيجيريا، بدعوى تقاعسها عن وقف العنف الموجه ضد المجتمعات المسيحية.
وحذر ترمب من أن المسيحيين في نيجيريا يواجهون “تهديداً وجودياً”، وسط ترويج حلفاء يمينيين لادعاءات بتعرض “المسيحيين لقتل جماعي”.
وتقول الحكومة النيجيرية إن الجماعات المسلحة تستهدف كلا من المسلمين والمسيحيين على حد سواء، وإن مزاعم الولايات المتحدة بأن المسيحيين يتعرضون للاضطهاد لا تعكس وضعاً أمنياً معقداً وتتجاهل في الوقت نفسه الجهود المبذولة لحماية الحرية الدينية. ومع ذلك، وافقت نيجيريا على التعاون مع واشنطن لدعم قواتها ضد الجماعات المسلحة.
وفي الأشهر الأخيرة لاقت روايات على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي عن “إبادة جماعية مسيحية” و”اضطهاد” في نيجيريا صدى في أوساط اليمين المتطرف في الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا.
وتشهد أكبر دولة في أفريقيا من حيث عدد السكان نزاعات يقول متخصصون إنها أدت إلى مقتل مسيحيين ومسلمين من دون تمييز.

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday that the United States launched precise airstrikes and hit “terrorist targets” in the northwest of the country, adding that it remains engaged with Washington in “structured security cooperation.”
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that American forces had carried out several powerful and bloody strikes against “the dregs of ISIS terrorists” in northwestern Nigeria, vowing to launch more strikes if militants continue killing Christians.
Trump said in a post on his social media platform “Truth Social,” “I had previously warned these terrorists that if they did not stop slaughtering Christians, they would pay a heavy price, and tonight it happened,” adding that “the Department of War carried out several precise strikes.”
The U.S. Military Command in Africa said on “X” that the strike was carried out in Soboto State at the request of the Nigerian authorities and resulted in the killing of a number of ISIS elements.
Flight tracking data and statements from current and former U.S. officials had shown that the United States has been conducting flights to collect intelligence over large parts of Nigeria since late last November, indicating increased security cooperation between the two countries.
Reuters was unable at the time to determine what information these flights aimed to collect, but they followed U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats in November of military intervention in Nigeria, on the grounds of its failure to stop violence against Christian communities.
Trump warned that Christians in Nigeria face an “existential threat,” while right-wing allies promoted claims of “mass killings of Christians.”
The Nigerian government says that armed groups target both Muslims and Christians equally, and that U.S. claims of Christians being persecuted do not reflect a complex security situation and simultaneously ignore efforts to protect religious freedom. However, Nigeria agreed to cooperate with Washington to support its forces against armed groups.
In recent months, narratives on social media about “Christian genocide” and “persecution” in Nigeria have resonated among far-right circles in the United States and Europe.
Africa’s most populous country is witnessing conflicts that experts say have led to the indiscriminate killing of Christians and Muslims.
